I'll incessantly repeat as well that this race was formerly called "Dwars door België" until 1999. Probably until it gets back its rightful name and route.

The route back then was impressive, including the Côte du Beau-Site, in the Walloon part of the "Flemish Ardennes". Probably the hardest cobbled climb in the area, after the Koppenberg. No longer used in pro cycling now but the main decider of the Tryptich Mounts & Castles and of the Two Days of Gaverstreek. I can understand that many of you have only known the race in its "Dwars door Vlaanderen" format but for us in Wallonia, this route change and name change were felt as a disgraced back then. Clearly.
