  • Of course, if this turns out someday to be the industry standard integrated handlebar-computer-braking solution then I'll eat my kevlar-reinforced aerodynamic hat.

Voted Jasper de Buyst for laughs. :lol

It's really hard to say in my opinion, and could go a number of ways.

If I get my s*** together I may do a star rating .... but for now, I will say my choice is Boonen.   (though in the poll I did pick my boy PhilGil  :P )

Boonen and Sagan both in super shape - and I think Sagan wants this a lot more than he wanted Flanders.  To win Roubaix wearing rainbows - he wants that badly.

But Sagan has no team - and there are a lot of scenarios where the other guys in a group will not work with him.   Boonen has a super strong team, with quite a number who are realistic chances and can help him

GVA - maybe.  He certainly is in good shape. Best form I have seen him in actually.  He needs to pick himself up and get over the disappointment of RvV though ... as he had set himself for finally winning it and would be gutted after his Belgian races so far this year.

Other than those - there are quite a few who might do it if the cards fall their way.   I was super impressed with Dylan Van Baarle at Flanders - and if Van Marcke doesnt ride, it will be all in for him from Cannondale (not that that means much though :fp )

And Naeson has been pretty impressive so far this spring as well.

Can´t see GVA winning top 5 maybe

But I recon it is between a Quickstep rider Like Niki or Stybar as other look a Boonen , Boonen attacks from 198 km out and wins or Naesen

I think it'll be someone relatively surprising who's got form but perhaps not the climbing legs to have challenged consistently the past few weeks.

Went for Van Baarle, but Durbridge, Degenkolb, Kristoff could well be all in the mix.

My Carlton Kirby cheeky side-bet #uae Sacha Modolo

I honestly cant see Durbridge doing it.

He is in good form - but these races are just that bit too far for him yet.  He doesnt have the stamina to be able to go for that long.

Modolo isnt a stupid choice.  He has been going incredibly well over the Belgian cobbles.

I've gone for Naesen. 4 top ten finishes in cobbly races this year and going well at Flanders before being brought down. Could be someone who isn't instantly marked by other teams if he were to get into a move late in the race.

My only question mark is, is he willing to go and then not win, does he have that Killer move in him

I also voted for Naesen fwiw

#katusha Kristoff seems to have sacrificed ability in explosive climbs for *something* and also to delay his peak form for *some reason* compared to last year and then to skip Scheldeprijs because *some other race*. I cannot see any other conclusion than he's out trying to win all the monuments that he can win, which means he's lacking the Paris-Roubaix.

I think Kristoff himself will be strong but I question if the red army is ready for this.

EDIT: honorable mention: #didata Edvald Boasson Hagen wants this race very much. It has been first priority for many years for him. When asked why (he might actually win more races if he prioritized otherwise, as his basic abilities are quitte all-round) he answers: because it is the hardest one for me to win. (gotta love the attitude and the irrationalilty behind it!)

Greg. He was really close at De Ronde, he is in amazing form and I don`t think they`ll beat him again. But honestly, I don`t care who will win as long as the race is interesting.
