  • Of course, if this turns out someday to be the industry standard integrated handlebar-computer-braking solution then I'll eat my kevlar-reinforced aerodynamic hat.

Hugh Carty kicked off the attacking off Sky's Mini Me train.
Geraint T very impressive bridging up to Landa and Pozzo in no time.
Pinot left floundering and Dennis miles behind.

Sounds like someone needed a power trip ... ;)

Seriously though, not being able to see the numbers makes things quite difficult for everyone. There are frame numbers, but those are tiny.

Would it be so hard to produce jackets with transparent lower backs (or transparent backs altogether)?! :S

    Just give the riders numbers

ie BMC number 1 is Samu he has this all career while at BMC print the number on everything

everyone then knows Samu is wearing number 1 BMC

At the start of a stage race if the last years leader is riding they start in the leaders jersey Stage 1

doesnt have to be a number

3 letters - so that there isnt controversy over special numbers etc.

But riders keeping their numbers - or printing names on jersey - is a much better idea.

    today's stage finish, via @raffilpt

final bump is 2,1km at 9,1% average. The Bondone is tough though of course, and the descent very technical. The winning move may come early I guess

all on the startlist for Liège. Mind you, we have 5 days of racing in Trentino this year instead of the usual 4.

Boswell is out as well, after a crash though. Sky down to 5

Shows far more disrespect to start a race then ditch it in favour of the possibility of a handful of WT points than starting with fewer riders imho

As someone who wasn't too outraged by the rebranding of the race I have to say I enjoyed it. The coverage on http://bikechannel.co.uk/ was really good (despite the day the whole hour of highlights was talking and a static shot of the finishing banner).

The idea of a true Tour of the Alps really appeals to me and there was enough good camera work and stunning vistas to ensure that the region and sponsors will look to back this going forward.
