Tesla autopilot vs bikers
« on: May 31, 2017, 21:29 »
A researcher in robotics have reviewed the Tesla autopilot and concludes it is very dangerous for people on bikes.

"The purpose of this post is to share my first impressions of this system, particularly regarding its human-machine interfacing. I’m concerned that some will ignore its limitations and put biker lives at risk; we found the Autopilot’s agnostic behavior around bicyclists to be frightening"

Teslas are actually common in Norway - electric vehicles enjoys some subsidies and hydrocarbon powered similar equipment is very heavy taxed compared to anywhere else. I can't recall a single incident report related to this. Many other brands have something similar if not identic. I haven't experienced problems with it when I have used it (on a car where it only regulates the gas vs brake not steering) .

Any assisted driving bicycle accidents reported where you live?
