Of course, if this turns out someday to be the industry standard integrated handlebar-computer-braking solution then I'll eat my kevlar-reinforced aerodynamic hat.

Hunh? Now I'm confused. But ok - so you did a PRE-preview of all the stages, but we are still doing the individual stages? Ok - I'll do a couple that aren't signed up for - I'll just pick some when I do them. Give me until this Sun morn and lets see what I've done by then. I see Leadbelly picked stage 5, which should be the first GC shootout, and I do expect some shots to be fired here, unlike what happened on Mt Etna in the Giro. I'll defo plug in 9, which should see a major battle for GC.

    2-3-4 done.
    6-7 done.
    9- done.

I may stick some more in later, but once jsg gets stage 1 in, that gives us a good head start.

There are some more sprint stages in the 2nd week! Or if you know anything firsthand on the first week sprint stages that I couldn't know? Please feel free to add something! Trying to think of something different to say on those sprint stages back-to-back - that was tough. The roads all look good, the climbs look more like lumps, not much technical, nothing to make much in the way of selections that I see - unless they get hit by winds and have to echelon - and I can't predict that.

I'll leave it alone for a while now, so y'all can have fun! I got started on the sprint stages, figuring most other folks would avoid them, just because they don't look very selective. When I looked in detail, even the hilly stage doesn't look like it will see any selections. The roads are good - standard width, not super wide, but two lanes. Pretty straight, too, and no sharp ramps or cobbles as far as I could see on Google maps.

We could see Cav having another grand year for the first time in a long time - but I don't think so. What with his being sick, and changes in the peloton since his Highroad years, I just don't see it. And we've got some good sprint competition now. Not to mention Sagan, who can be there in the sprint as well. Sagan could have another year of all 2nd place finishes, and get the green jersey that way.

But y'all take some stages!  :wave

. . .even the hilly stage doesn't look like it will see any selections.  . . .
You know, I do have to say this - that hilly stage into Longwy (stage 3)? There won't be any selections before the final, I'm thinking. But that last ramp to the finish makes things very unpredictable. I would NOT be surprised to see some of the GC men seeing what they can do there. Valverde is another logical character to expect on that last ramp. It could be Sagan. Or any of the classics strong men. I rather expect we will see a lot of action jammed into a few meters that day. It is steep and sharp and right at the end.

I have to say I am disappointed - in spite of protests - no one has signed up to cover other stages! I hadn't intended to cover more stages, but might do, just for spite!

Tbh, I hadn't looked here because I had just assumed hiero was doing them all, after about 6 in a row. :D

Note that I did already fill in with stage 8 and I too have been doing virtually all the stage previews, elsewhere.
I'll knock out stage 11 today and see how I go from there. Will probably try for stage 12 as well.

Ah, Search! You off in Sibiu with Lukas! Cool, totally cool. Great for you two! I'll keep an eye out - if we get to the last minute on anything coming up soon, I'll pitch in to cover. End of the week I'll be pretty busy, so if anything misses then - somebody else will need to cover.

    Safe travels;

    H

The matrix needs to be updated, with MV having done 8 and 11 and 12. AG signed up for 10.

And I'm doing 13 at this very moment.
