I was just watching Catalunya on Eurosport NL and I heard that yesterday's winner Alvaro "Hodeg" clarified that he is of Scottish descent and that his family name is really a corruption of "Hodge". So despite this apparent typo, his name should be pronounced "Hodge".

Reminds me of how the late Nobel literature laureate José Saramago got his name. Saramago, which means "radish" in English, was his father's nickname. At his birth, José should have been registered as "De Sousa" but the registrar mistakenly or for a joke recorded "Radish" as his family name and bizarrely it was never changed.
