Russell's lead is beginning to look not quite so unassailable as before. If any of the other top-six can pull of a podium result in Spain then the cat could be among the pigeons.

Early days, but the pigeon must be feeling a bit jumpy. :D

Just to say I managed to knock out a team while on hols and with lousy access.
    Pleased about the Volta! :D

Congratulations to Lord Di Lego on a second(?) victory this year! Similarly to the Tour, the top two had comfortable gaps, but the fight for third was a bit closer.

The riders you wanted to pick from each category were:

All Rounder: Froome (again) and Nibali (Kelderman a decent cheaper alternative)
Climber: Zakarin and Poels (points scored by the climbers a lot less than all-rounders)
Sprinter: Trentin obviously with Rojas(!) the only viable alternative
    Unclassified: Woods, Lutsenko and Marczynski

Froome was an essential pick with a staggering 2605 points. Imagine how many a fit Valverde might have scored!

Lord Di Lego naturally had Froome along with Nibali, Trentin and Woods. The Canadian probably gave him the edge over me in the battle for the win.

See the Tour of Britain thread (in a bit) for the overall league, but the points from the Vuelta had the top three covered by two points!

Thanks for the congratulations! I'm happy to win another league and yes, I believe this was the second one this year after the Giro Rosa.
I've had a pretty poor velogames season this year though, compared to previous years. Several really bad and uneven results, especially in the first half of the season, and on top of that too many slightly mediocre results. I'm just happy that I finally started finding some form and stability towards the latter half of the season and got to challenge for the overall podium positions in our standings. This results helps with that. :D

As far as the Vuelta, even though I won our league and got 51th overall, my team did suffer at times. Losing DLC on the penultimate stage (you had him too, but still) and mostly the fact that I lost Betancur and Kudus so early on in the race. With such a hard parcour, I expected there to be quite a few tough breakaway stages and that's probably where they would shine. Instead I lost them just as we started to get to those stages. Especially Kudus, who was targeting the Vuelta for the entire year... The remaining riders did a really good job though.  :angel
