But overall - chapeau to Movistar for taking a back seat branding wise, (including duplicating use of font colour) - a great effort

I thought exactly the opposite: have they not lightened the blue compared to the UCI logo to make it into the Movistar corporate colour?

    That's what I mean: they have made the top band paler, so that it matches their branding, when compared to the blue of the UCI logo as presented elsewhere.

    Looking at the Valverde kit and bike reminds me of an occasional quandary that comes to my mind: Why do we refer to these as the rainbow bands?  What weird aberration of the laws of physics would cause light to diffract in that pattern?

    This is not a rainbow, it is a misremembering of the order of colours in the olympic rings.
    They've been called 'rainbow bands' since time immemorial.
    Thou shalt not question that. :admin
