    And another German goes to Britanny:
    Robert Wagner #jumbo --> #fortuneo

    I find this really left-field. :S
    Either they sign whoever they can get (meaning, old Germans), or they've really watched Wagner in recent years and know he's the last piece missing in their puzzle to get Greipel a handful of Tour stage wins and Barguil a polka-dot jersey in 2019. :shh

    #fortuneo is a left-field team! "More like a cycling club than a team" according to one of the TV2 comentaries here. There are very few riders that get better at #fortuneo, to put it that way.

    Not the first Italian sprinter to ride for Caja. I'm almost certain a WT move was rumoured earlier in the year for Matteo, but at least with this he'll get to ride a GT.

    Denifl ----------> #bmc / #ccc

    With his knee problems he's lucky to get a WT ride.

    Nick Nuyens, as team manager, put pressure on people in the team to put a statement on paper that would be damaging for Wout van Aert. That is the "weighty fact" that Walter Van Steenbrugge, Van Aert's lawyer, is talking about. Nuyens was already trying to collect evidence with a view to a later lawsuit against Van Aert.

    Not only a WT ride, but one where he will be able to ride for himself almost any time he wants. There are basically no climbers on that team and they will be doing a WT schedule.

    Two more riders #riwal for Riwal: Mathias Norsgaard and Andreas Kron both rode for the Conti team in 2018 and have now signed two-year neo-pro contracts with the (hopefully soon-to-be) ProConti team.

    Pretty random signings for  #mitchelton this year.
    Au contraire!
    To me, it looks like they have a good idea of what they do (and don't) want to be in 2019 and further on: A GC team.
    Letting Ewan (plus his entourage of Kluge and possibly Mezgec) go is just logical then. So is the signing of *au climbing talent like Nick Schultz or Rob Stannard, and of course the signing of rouleurs to keep your climbers safe: Bookwalter, Affini ... and now Dion Smith.
    Who, I believe, is better than his already decent results show. :cool

    They need to throw money at anybody not called Aru. Joking aside though, they obviously have made some good signings. You don't need to be Matxin to know Pogacar and Philipsen are talents, but you can tell they are transfers made with his hand on the tiller and I'd trust his judgement more than others that Munoz will be the pick of the Colombians coming over from the Colombian CT teams.

    True about Aru. He was never going to win a GT with his awful TT record anyway but he's 28 already. Seems like yesterday that he was the hot prospect just coming into the bigs off a solid U23 career. That said, when you look at the names that kept him off the Baby Giro podium: Cattaneo, Anacona, Agostini ...

    Hard to like this team which, after almost two seasons, still hasn't proved it's anything more than a rebadged Lampre.

    With Affini, Stannard and Scotson they signed 3 neopros and I doubt the latter two are WT material yet. Bookwalter and Smith are good signings but not as good as the talent that moved on.

    I hope they throw some money to me too then, because after seeing Philipsen in the Gylne Gutuer I wrote somewhere on these pages he was world tour material. That’s 10 percent to me for the tip and 5 percent to velorooms for the plattform and publication services, sheikhs!   :angel

    And with that, Riis' pro team ambitions are officially dead and buried.
    Kamp says so himself in the article: No sponsors and money for ProConti, so the team will stay Conti in 2019.

    It's mentioned in the article that Kamp is close with Skelde - but he is also close with Riis. If he doesn't stick around that's it for Team Véloconcept Virtu Waoo.
    I'm not sure there will even be a Conti team next year. :shh
