The decision to go U23 means that Velorooms will not have a (erstwhile) poster riding a UCI race this year. We'll have to rely on esafosfina making a comeback somewhere....

    Quote
The Triptyque des Monts et Chateaux innovates this year because the race will be reserved for riders under 23 years old. The course concocted by the organizers must highlight "the new Tim Wellens or Lilian Calmejane of the Espoirs platoon.Last year, it was aimed at sprinters able to hold on the length but this time, the climbers will have more their say"

There is a brief rundown of the four stages in the article and La Flamme Rouge has more detailed profiles.

    Competing Teams:

The winner of Kattekoers, Ziga Jerman, says the Slovenian team will be there as well.

The winner of Kattekoers, Ziga Jerman, says the Slovenian team will be there as well.

He was telling fibs (as of 27/03). The extra team will be T.Palm - Pole Continental Wallon and they replace Baqué Ideus BH.

    Provisional start list is hic.

Names to follow might include Philipsen, Barta, Van Dingenen, Van Den Berg, Dewulf, Thijssen, Burgaudeau, Maitre, Maciejuk, Wirtgen x 2, Cullaigh, Fouche, Porzner, Eekhoff, Hirschi, Kanter, JJ, Vingegaard and Anderberg.

Just two (strong) riders in the break of the day - Kooistra and Fouche. They, along with Eeekhof and Wirtgen, picked up bonifications at the intermediates which could be important later.

    Another sprint today. Ticker here.

Since there was another race happening in Belgium today, it was probably a wise idea to save the decisive stages for tomorrow. TT in the morning and hills in the afternoon.

Double up day for Dewulf, but the bonuses earned by Philipsen on the first two stages and his strong team were enough to see him hold on to the yellow jersey.
