the gaps created in the first stage were a bit bigger than expected, with only Alaphilippe able to keep up with Roglic (and the other way around)

Initially Quintana was with them but then dropped like a stone. Landa nowhere, Little Richie 7 minutes behind.

so "3.4k at 8.4% is a bit misleading.

With Alaphilippe and Roglix being so dominant yesterday, there won't be many teams giving Quickstep a hand today though, I think. That could open up the chance for a breakaway group to succeed
