Stage 7 : Pizzo › Praia a Mare
« on: May 10, 2018, 17:44 »
Stage 7: Pizzo  ›  Praia a Mare

After the start in Israel and the excursion to Sicily the race hits the mainland of Italy for the first time this year and it appears that the organisers didn't really fancy giving the riders to much to fear with it.

Starting in the coastal town of Pizzo and finishing in the coastal town of Praia a Mare the race basically travels north all day before make a 180 degree turn to head to the finish.

There is nothing to bother the race in terms of climbing bar a few little pimples along the way and one final climb that although 4km long averages a mere 3% for its duration. A similair descent before a virtually straight finish of 1.8km for the expected sprint finish to take place on.

So who will win? Its a very short answe but he's already shown in Israel that he's the best of the fastmen here so it will be a big surprise to see anyone but Viviani take the victory on Stage 7

There is this other sprinter with an even more dedicated team in support.

And if you rewind to the Tel Aviv sprint...yes, he is fast enough:

    (at about 3:45 )

I will hereby hijack this ... take this sprint to #wilier Kuba!

Yeah but you see that 4km climb at 3%. He'll probably be one of the few dropped on that. along with the rest of his team trying to drag him back after it.

I think that hill looks a bit like a small Poggio just before the sprint. In that case...maybe  ;)

Great team spirit though, pushing their injured teammate up a volcano. :pray
