...and that leaves Odd Christian Eiking and Fredrick Backaert out of the squad. I know Eiking is quite disappointed, and he is a bit of a temperamental dude so he's probably made a few statements he'll regret later. (Actually I am abit disappointed by him,  as someone that hasn't finished anything worth speaking of since Oman isn't a safe bet and it must be acceptable that other riders are prioritized. No need to blame others!)

It is understandable he is disappointed as he basically was going all in for the TdF this year, skipping even our national championship for Tdf preparations this weeken. Backaert seems more relaxed about everything, but he would have been a good team member in the first week as he is good in both Breton and Belgian conditions.

It seem Eiking will be #wanty captain in Österreichrundfahrt instead, and it will be at least one more year until a rider from Hordaland county (Bergen area *no) makes it into the TdF. :(

I wonder if more cycling babies are born at this time of the year than others? Go back nine months and the season has just ended. All the pros go off to the Seychelles/Curacao/Bognor Regis with their other halves and enjoy some holiday fumbles.
