P&S Team Thüringen (a direct descendant of Thüringer Energie Team?)
Yes - and no. It's not a direct descendant, but it came about because TET stopped.

Thüringer Energie Team was run by the company TeamSpirit of Jörg Werner who is now a riders' agent (Marcel Kittel, Tony Martin, Max Schachmann, Kristina Vogel) and brought the 2016 *de RR champs to Erfurt. It was essentially a private venture - which of course would have good relations to riders from Thüringen and sign those, but also would sign others.

P&S Team Thüringen is run by the Thüringen cycling federation (TRV); in the last years it was the TRV's official Bundesliga squad that took on talented riders from Thuringian cycling clubs ... and only those. Similar squads exist(ed) for other of Germany's federal states such Berlin (KED-Stevens Radteam Berlin), Sachsen (Schwalbe Team Sachsen), or Hessen (Hessen-Frankfurt-Opelit).
If you're not from Thüringen, you can circumvent this by registering with a Thuringian club, though - or the team may even approach you with an offer to move to the state, start a university course or an apprenticeship, register with a local club, and race for them.

As a Continental team, these restrictions would likely be relaxed, or done away with altogether. But the team management would probably still have deeper knowledge of the local riders and prefer those over other riders who hail from further afield.

They were already on the startlist for the Tour de Siak this week, but failed to show up.

A Chinese WT team in 2020?

I dunno about WT unless they "buy" an already extant team (Quickstep or Mitchelton if Gerry Ryan is fed up with paying the bills?), but if people like Shane Sutton and Brian Smith are getting involved it at least lends some credence to the idea of the team ever existing.

    Watch this space.

people like Shane Sutton [...] involved
It also makes me more than just second-guess if I would want such a team to exist.

    Yes, Sutton brings results.
But I am leaning towards the view that a more cooperative relationship with the athletes he's entrusted would, in fact, yield even better results ... as well as a lower number of athletes 'spat out' because they 'don't work in the system'.
It's not the athletes that are 'not good enough', it's the system that's simply not up to scratch any more (and actually never was - but few cared in the 'good old days').

Fair play to Floyd. Wins the "lottery" and puts it all into a new Canadian CT team - Floyd’s of Leadville Pro Cycling Team.

I say new, but Gord Fraser is involved and they hope to pick-up some of the youngsters from Silber.

If they're sticking to a strict U23 devo team then nobody from UHC is young enough and only Jorgenson from Jelly Belly fits the bill.

    Yesterday's reports weren't 100% accurate.

Other bits to glean from this article are:

#1 No riders have been hired yet

#2 Same budget (roughly) as Silber, but fewer riders

#3 Gord talks about it being a great thing "if we can keep a couple of the (Silber) guys"

#4 The team will participate in other expanding areas of cycling - gravel, Gran Fondos and CX

#5 They might do some "foreign stuff" if the Canadian or Quebecois federations are interested (in paying!)

This is what happens when people get involved in stuff they don't know much about. They still managed a longer run than Rick Delaney, so fair play to them for that.

not "one pro" as in an unspecified individual, but One Pro, UK Conti team that has been around for 4 years.  Announced recently that men's team was stopping but there would be a women's team, now there won't be that either.

So we have Deceuninck-Quick-Step (that combination of long and short dashes will not please the casual typist); a multi-year deal, which is good for stability, the stabilisation of a major team, and a consistency of kit colour.

All of which is good, but how do we say it?

I am using an as yet untried outside my own head variant on "Designing", as said by a comedy stereotype west-country yokel, "dezoinink".

it has been surprisingly silent around #wilier Wilier Triestina so far, although they are definitely losing the main sponsor for 2019.

According to Beppe Conti, KTM will take over sponsorship for the coming three years (which would also put some sense into the odd mid-season transfer of #hrinkow Sebastian Schöneberg).

Two potential signings could be #bora Matteo Pelucchi (basically a one-to-one replacement for Mareczko, so it would make sense) and #quickstep Eros Capecchi

someone from the team posts on Cicloweb, he says the new bike supplier will not be the main sponsor. Talks about the exact name of the team for the next season are still ongoing.

#bora Pelucchi also said yesterday that he is still looking for a new team. So this just seems to be the normal kind of Beppe Conti "rumor"...

Perhaps LOOK did want to jump on that train but Ag2r didn't want to ride the bikes that another team thought weren't good enough mid season.

Will Merckx continue supplying Sport Vlaanderen - Baloise aswell or are they now on the lookout for a new bike supplier.

A Chinese WT team in 2020?

A stated aim of the nascent team is to have a Chinese TdF winner by 2025.

    Candidate #1

    Lyu Xianjing

Just twenty years old and Hainan is literally his first road race. He leads the KoM competition and only lost a little time on the one GC day so far (and I think that was on the descent).

    Speaking after that stage....

    Quote
I’m very satisfied with my result today. I’m thankful to my team-mates for helping me to achieve this. I was targeting KOM points but I’m very surprised that I’m also in the blue jersey. The polka dot jersey remains my goal for this Tour of Hainan. I have no experience of road racing so I don’t even know the riders I’m racing against here. I’m yet to learn a lot about road cycling but I also want to participate to the Olympic Games and most likely that will be in mountain biking.

A switch to the road after Tokyo?

Anyway tomorrow's stage is a genuine MTF, so we'll see how he gets on then, but as a waiver I'll add that after today's stage he was quoted as feeling tired after so many stages in a row.

They are now also losing one of their stronger riders (the only one who won anything above .1) to a continental team:

#manzana Hernan Aguirre --> #interpro Interpro Stradelli Cycling

    https://www.facebook.com/ipcprocyclingteam/posts/1002054886632630?__tn__=-R

Interpro seems to be upping its game, with #amore Bogdanovičs and some promising youngsters getting on board they should have a very decent team for 2019, but it's still a bit of an odd type of transfer

#manzana Aguirre talked about his transfer with Ciclismo Internacional

    http://www.ciclismointernacional.com/hernan-aguirre-llego-la-hora-de-darle-un-rumbo-distinto-a-mi-carrera/

He says that #interpro Interpro in "no way" is a step back from Postabon. They will run an "excellent calendar" with for example the Herald Sun Tour, Langkawi, Colorado or the new Vuelta a Chile confirmed already, but also plenty of races in France and Spain.

In 2020, the team aims to move up to pro conti level.

Another new Italian CT team. Don't recognise a single name.

Rumours as well of a Venezuelan team wanting to go CT - Gobernacion Miranda. Why and how is up for debate.

I recognise Iseo - we stayed there for one night during the Giro Rosa.
    Nice area, great food. :)[1]
