According to a "credible source" one WT team hasn't paid any wages for the past four months
Ah, that is just great news. Not.

And at the same time, I can hardly say I'm surprised.

In the end, the team was presented as "Neri Sottoli - Selle Italia - KTM" yesterday, as mentioned in the transfer thread.

    https://www.facebook.com/NeriSelleItaliaKTM/photos/a.329684047233439/981847075350463/?type=3&theater

So after months of assuring that everything was fine, the fact that they couldn't even come up with a jersey makes you wonder if this is really the case. Neri has always been a sponsor with the team and stepped in as firemen in 2014 already after the big doping flip up - it may be more of the same this time, and probably for one year only again.

The team is somehow hobbling along - but funds have to be tighter than tight. Especially since Visconti won't have signed for minimum wage.

That was a real slow-newsday sort of story. I almost wish CN hadn't followed it up and called Tinkov for comments out of some daft idea that the longer he spends not uninvolved in the sport the further the distance. I guess though that the poor currency exchange rate should keep him away for now.

#topsport Sport Vlaanderen will continue to use the Eddy Merckx EM525 bikes, same as this year. #ag2r Ag2R will get a new one, but it's not ready yet

    https://www.nieuwsblad.be/cnt/dmf20181128_03993461

in l'Équipe today it's confirmed that Ag2R currently uses re-branded Ridley bikes (both are part of the same "Belgian Cycling Factory" company). The new EM 525 bike is supposed to arrive later this week though.

The road bike that is. They don't have a time trial bike, so that one was always going to be a Ridley, by the sound of it.

Well, I'm sure folks have already seen this has been doing the rounds for a few days, ever since the TeamIneos.com website domain was registered.
Since the rumour is gathering momentum and to make Flo's weekend, :D I thought I might as well post this.

I don't know if this is significant or not, but the BBC are now reporting Ineos as a done deal.

What makes you think he keeps anything more than a living pittance in rubles? I think it is a safe bet most of his money is in other currencies.

Oh, and a living pittance for him will be more than I'll see in my lifetime. :( <sigh>

No direct explanation in the article, but the two doping cases must surely lie behind it.
    Here's the team's official statement: http://manzanapostobonteam.com/8978-2/

    Auto-translated, it gives this:
    Quote
Medellín, May 24, 2019. During the last 10 years, from Corporación Pedaleamos por Colombia, a non-profit project, born out of a passion for cycling, we are dedicated to the promotion of sports, focusing on the development and growth of cyclists with high potential, being, in addition, flag bearers of ethical cycling, fair play and doping free competition.

Under that flag, we can give faith that we work hard and for conviction in the realization of the controls against doping that were within our reach. In addition, we train and train all the members of the Corporation, especially professional and youth cyclists, including their families, about the importance of making a difference with their good behavior, respect for their body, care of their health and, above all, the responsibility before society to be an example for a society that vibrates with sports and sees them as references to follow.

However, before the adverse events presented in recent weeks, in which were involved, on a personal basis, athletes belonging to the professional cycling team, we have made the decision not to continue with the professional cycling team, which is why, as of the date, the team will not participate in the competences foreseen in the national and international calendar.

We must thank all the sponsors who throughout all these years trusted in the team and joined us. Without you, it would not have been possible to achieve the goals we set for ourselves. We had more, but, unfortunately, this problem that surrounds us in the sport prevented us from moving forward.

The Corporation invites the whole society, the national entities such as Coldeportes, the Colombian Cycling Federation and the professional, recreational and cycling enthusiasts, not to falter in the purposes that we always believed, because we are convinced that sport Clean and responsible has the ability to give us great triumphs and make us vibrate as a country.

From the Corporación Pedaleamos por Colombia we call the athletes and the cycling teams of the country, to strengthen the commitment to fight against doping, increase internal controls, integrally train runners to protect their environments. That is the best way to avoid situations such as those that make us say goodbye to cycling today.

    ALEJANDRO RESTREPO ECHAVARRÍA
    President
    Corporación Pedaleamos por Colombia
