Stage 21: Alcorcón > Madrid
« on: September 16, 2018, 07:58 »
So, barring a crash, Yatesy has it! Although I've had to abstain from most of this race due to other commitments, from what I've seen it's been classic Yates. Powerful, well-timed late moves. Chapeau to him.

Today's profile is nothing to shout about, so let's jump straight to the favourites. Very few of the sprinters have dropped out, leaving this much the same as previous stages.

*****
Viviani

****
Sagan

***
Nizzolo, Van Poppel

**
Van Asbroeck

*
Aberasturi, Postlberger(oops)

If Sagan is feeling iffy, a Postlberger clip off the front could be on. Otherwise business as usual I feel. In a strange trust of fate, I'm in Madrid today but off before the race reaches us. I'll see if I can get some pictures of the finish etc.

But not before you chalk the road with the Velorooms logo!  :party

he went home to prepare for the Worlds a couple of days ago, so I'm afraid Sagan needs to finish it off himself ;)

    #quickstep Elia Viviani Masterclass!

Also by  Mørkøv, deciding the right thing to do when Viviani was derailed after the turn! There aren't many teams that can land such a troubled flight the way Quickstep did today.
