Venturini barged 2 riders out the way at 300m to go, then he put Tom van Asbroeck into the barriers at 100m to go and finally hand slung himself off Tim Dupont's shoulder for his hat trick of infringements. :fp  :lol

Bugger, after initially winning today's stage in Dunkerque Venturini has been relegated and also got a 30s penalty  :( that means not just 25 points down the drain but also the potential GC points :-x  :angry

I have him in my cobblestone team for this race.  :S Haven't seen any footage but reading Leadbelly and Mellow Velo it sounds pretty deserved so all well with me.

Update #18: Calm Before the Storm

First off, apologies for the very late update this week. I was in transit and then in a remote location, and when I tried to post through my phone (because I had no wifi) Cyclingnews gave me some kind of "IP address forbidden" notice, which I've never seen before. Luckily, it was probably one of the quietest weeks points-wise in the game, so of all the updates to be delayed this is probably not the most heartbreaking.

Anyway, game-wise as I said it was a quiet week, with the 2.1 Vuelta Communidad a Madrid as the only race above .2 status, plus two stages of the Giro and one of the Tour of California. So it is going to be a low-key week, compared to the rest of the season. Let's see who got the right combo of riders!

    This Week's Top Scorers

    Rank   Team   Points this week
    1   ThePirate81   122
    2   Jancouver   101
    3   freshman   100
    4   fauniera   90
    5   TheArt   87

ThePirate81 gets the win this week, one of only 3 teams to top 100 points this week. This was mostly on the back of unique pick Romain Hardy, who got 93 points this week to bring his seasonal total to 220 on a 120 cost. Add 25 points from Nibali and 4 from Rudy Barbier and that's good enough for the win. Jancouver ends up in second with a more disbursed points total (Nibali, Ewan, Gaviria and Bonifazio all pick up a handful) and freshman slides into 3rd with an even 100 with the same combo except for Restrepo (35 points) instead of Bonifazio (who got 36).

    This Week's High Movers

    Rank   Team   Up/down
    1   AupaPyama   (+4)
    1   DFA123   (+4)
    1   freshman   (+4)
    4   PremierAndrew   (+3)
    4   Tonton   (+3)
    4   ThePirate81   (+3)
    4   Jancouver   (+3)
    4   PeterB   (+3)

Not a ton of movement here. freshman repeats on the podium, but tied with DFA123 and AupaPyama for top spot with a whopping 4 spot jump.

    Green Jersey Competition

    Rank   Team   Total
    1   Googolplex   151
    2   armchairclimber   135
    3   Popchu   133
    4   TheArt   126
    5   Nicosix   120

The points count the same in the Green Jersey competition even in weeks with few CQ points, and interestingly, lots of teams near the top of this ranking got more points this week. Googolplex - already in first - picked up 7 more points to add to their team's lead, and second place armchairclimber was the only team in the top 5 overall not to score, with Popchu and Nicosix both picking up 15 points this week, and TheArt picking up 26.

    Top 10 Overall

    Rank   Up/down   Team   Points
    1   (-)   Object   5877
    2   (-)   fauniera   5699
    3   (-)   Tigerion   5453
    4   (-)   tobydawq   5404
    5   (-)   EvansIsTheBest   5389
    6   (-)   karaev   5293
    7   (-)   skidmark   5281
    8   (-)   Kryvo   5259
    9   (+1)   TheArt   5166
    10   (-1)   Nyssinator   5128

Not much to comment on here - for example, fauniera got 4th place on the week and Object got 55th, but the gap only closed by 47 CQ points. Only one spot changed space, and we didn't gain or lose anyone in the top 10.

This week will certainly bring some more CQ action, with a whole week of Giro stages, California, Dunkirk, and a smattering of small races.

Grumble grumble... looking at Venturini's 2 second places and position on GC.... Not sure if I'm angry with the race jury or frustrated with Clement - robbed me of 100+ points :(

Update #19: laarsland takes the week

With three tiers of racing going on this week (ongoing stages at a GT, the lower-tier WT race in California, and the HC six-stages-but-four-days of Dunkirk), there were plenty of options for points to be mined with stage wins and GC points, and of course hopes going up and down at the Giro GC with the payoff delayed for another few weeks yet.

    This Week's Top Scorers

    Rank   Team   Points this week
    1   laarsland   571
    2   Riverside   555
    3   Jakob747   534
    4   ansimi   522
    5   Josedin   508

The week goes to laarsland with 571 points. Their team is one of only 3 with the suddenly dominant Mike Teunissen picking up 246 points in Dunkirk, but also they got healthy contributions from Ewan (125) and Gaviria (110) at the Giro. Riverside finishes 16 points back with a totally different set of riders, as one of 7 teams with the jaw-droppingly good Tadej Pogacar (244 points this week), as well as 114 from Groenewegen (2 teams) and 111 from Keukeleire (5 teams). Jakob747 has a great showing to make the podium being pulled by the Higuita train (only 2 teams picked him but he got another 194 this week to bring his profit so far to 329 points on a cost of 119).

    This Week's High Movers

    Rank   Team   Up/down
    1   laarsland   (+16)
    2   Riverside   (+14)
    3   will10   (+13)
    4   ansimi   (+12)
    5   Josedin   (+10)

laarsland and Riverside top this one too, moving up 16 and 14 places respectively. will10 gets in on some podium action, moving up 13 places mostly thanks to Pogacar and Gaviria.

    Green Jersey Competition

    Rank   Team   Total
    1   armchairclimber   153
    2   Googolplex   151
    3   Popchu   133
    4   TheArt   126
    5   Nicosix   120

There's a new leader of this competition! After Googolplex extended their team's lead last week with 7 points, armchairclimber scores 18 this week to overtake Googolplex by two points. No other scoring in the top 5.

    Top 10 Overall

    Rank   Up/down   Team   Points
    1   (-)   Object   6139
    2   (-)   fauniera   5883
    3   (-)   Tigerion   5833
    4   (-)   tobydawq   5688
    5   (+2)   skidmark   5654
    6   (-1)   EvansIsTheBest   5627
    7   (-1)   karaev   5601
    8   (-)   Kryvo   5520
    8   (+9)   Jakob747   5520
    10   (-)   Nyssinator   5510

Not a ton of movement on the overall either - fauniera lost about 78 points to Object so that lead is extended, but most teams were between 250 and 400 on the week so just some minor jockeying. Jakob747 rockets into the top 10 while we lose TheArt from last week's top 10.

    Update #20: escartin climbs high

The second week of the Giro is in the bag, there were several 2.1 races that might have featured more obscure picks, a 1.1 race, and an edition of the Hammer Series. Again, not the hugest week, but some good scores were bound to be had.

    This Week's Top Scorers

    Rank   Team   Points this week
    1   escartin   496
    2   skidmark   443
    3   DFA123   429
    4   Geraint Too Fast   424
    5   LosBrolin   416

The week goes to team escartin with almost 500 points. Their team succeeded this week by breadth and depth rather than a top-heavy roster. Matthias Brandle was their biggest scorer with 112 points; Coquard got 80, Zakarin 70, Bouhanni 48, and a whole host of riders picking up a dozen or two points at Hammer Series and elsewhere. Team skidmark lands in second place over 50 points back, with most of the same crew above sans Brandle but plus Rudy Barbier (86 points). DFA123 rounds out the podium with contributions from Caleb Ewan (85 points before his abandonment), Mikel Landa (36 points), and some of the aforementioned guys.

    This Week's High Movers

    Rank   Team   Up/down
    1   escartin   (+15)
    2   DFA123   (+13)
    3   Eyeballs Out   (+10)
    4   shalgo   (+9)
    4   Tonton   (+9)

escartin doubles up with one of the few double digit leaps of the week. DFA123 moves up a spot in this ranking, while Eyeballs out ends up on the podium as well thanks largely to unique pick (and holy moly this is very likely to put Eyeballs Out on this list next week too) Richard Carapaz's 131 points.

    Green Jersey Competition

    Rank   Team   Total
    1   Googolplex   153
    1   armchairclimber   153
    3   skidmark   145
    4   TheArt   142
    5   Popchu   133

Some changes afoot in this competition, and we have a tie at the top! Googolplex relinquished the lead last week, but a minuscule 2 points for 15th place on the week brings their team into a tie with armchairclimber, both with 153 points. Team skidmark's second place this week gives them 35 points to jump into third, while TheArt gets 16 points to move into 4th. I should also mention that weekly winner escartin's 45 points for the win was their team's first points of the season in this competition! Congrats to escartin for getting on the board in the most impressive way!

    Top 10 Overall

    Rank   Up/down   Team   Points
    1   (-)   Object   6310
    2   (-)   fauniera   6220
    3   (+2)   skidmark   6097
    4   (-1)   Tigerion   6063
    5   (-1)   tobydawq   5904
    6   (+1)   karaev   5880
    7   (+5)   TheArt   5869
    8   (-2)   EvansIsTheBest   5863
    9   (+2)   Googolplex   5847
    10   (-2)   Kryvo   5761
    10   (-)   Nyssinator   5761

Team Object maintains their lead in this competition, but the gap has closed. Object now has two former winners of this game on their tail, as fauniera remains in second and closes the gap by 166 points, while skidmark's second place puts them on the podium. TheArt and Googolplex return to the top 10 after their good weeks, while we lose Jakob747 (we only lose 1 team because there's a tie for 10th).

This next week should be a biggie as the Giro GC points are on offer; it will be interesting to see how that shakes out, to say the least!

    Update #24: VeloRooms on top

The Tour de Suisse week is historically one of the highest scoring weeks outside GTs, and this seems to be the case now as well. There were plenty of Tour de France warm-up races to choose from this week, and a young Colombian seems to be the hottest at the moment.

    This Week's Top Scorers

    Rank   Team   Points this week
    1   VeloRooms   939
    2   Josedin   933
    3   Jon_Ezeitza   904
    4   karaev   872
    5   minessa   805

The VeloRooms team runs away with it this week – just! Bernal (422 pts) is the big hitter of course, but Vlasov (120) in Slovenia, Betancur (93) and Mas (82) in Switzerland and Hodeg (80) in Belgium also make strong contributions for the winning team. Josedin follows just 6 points behind, having most of their expensive riders score points (Bernal, Philipsen, Sosa, Pogacar, Hodeg), and almost none of the cheaper ones. Jon_Ezeitza also scores more than 900 points, mainly from the same riders as Josedin save for Pogi. It's also worth noting karaev in 4th place, more on that later...

    This Week's High Movers

    Rank   Team   Up/down
    1   Joelsim   (+24)
    2   Josedin   (+22)
    3   Jon_Ezeitza   (+20)
    4   trackstand   (+16)
    5   bminchow   (+13)
    5   Mellow Velo   (+13)
    5   zlev11   (+13)
    5   shalgo   (+13)

The two podiuming Js are once again beaten to top price, this time by another J: Joelsim. Bernal is once again the name of the game, with Philipsen also chipping in with good points for Joelsim.

    Green Jersey Competition

    Rank   Team   Total
    1   MADRAZO   185
    2   armchairclimber   175
    3   skidmark   171
    4   ruvu75   166
    5   TheArt   160

Nothing happening here. The closest action is fauniera moving up to 9th place in this competition.

    Top 10 Overall

    Rank   Up/down   Team   Points
    1   (+1)   karaev   8762
    2   (+1)   fauniera   8573
    3   (-2)   skidmark   8545
    4   (+1)   Kryvo   8181
    5   (-1)   Object   8122
    6   (-)   ruvu75   8077
    7   (-)   TheArt   8051
    8   (-)   Nyssinator   7936
    9   (+1)   DFA123   7891
    10   (+10)   SafeBet   7806

This is where the other big news of the week are found. skidmark lead the game by almost 300 points last week, but nothing can be taken for granted in this game. karaev is the new leader, outscoring the former leader by almost 500 points on the week courtesy of Bernal and Vendrame and a smattering of other points. fauniera makes skidmark's week even worse by moving into 2nd (again due to Bernal). SafeBet also has a huge week and enters the top 10 from 20th place last week. MADRAZO falls out.

We came 2nd in August 2017...
    Update #33: LosBrolin Keeps Rollin'

The Vuelta is into its second week, and with some results in France (Poitou Charentes & GP Bretagne) and Belgium (a bunch of little Omloops and GPs and "Flandrien Town Name-Flandrien Town Name" 1.1 races), there was a fair amount to draw from.

    This Week's Top Scorers

    Rank   Team   Points this week
    1   LosBrolin   783
    2   VeloRooms   757

... any top team this week has to have Viviani, who's in the form of his life and just killing it out there. LosBrolin also gets help from unique pick Bouhanni, who doesn't necessarily give an overwhelming return overall, but is good to have for weekly wins as he contributes in clumps (104 this week). Throw in Mads Pedersen's fine performance (136 points, 14 teams) this week, and you've got a winning combo. VeloRooms collective team comes oh-so-close, 26 points out of the top spot. They also had Viviani and Pedersen, but got their other big contribution from Vanmarcke (96 points).

And then, in the very last race that year, there was only one selected rider who scored, and it was a Velorooms unique pick
    Update #44: The End

The final .1 or above race of the season, Tour of Fuzhou, took place last week, and nary a pro conti team was to be seen. There wasn't much expectation for riders in this game to score, but with 130 teams it's always possible that someone picked an obscure rider that ended up racing this late in the season in Asia. Let's see, shall we?

    This Week's Top Scorers

    Rank   Team   Points this week
    1   VeloRooms   10

That's right! One team scored this week, and everyone else tied for second. Unique pick Dadi Suryadi nearly doubled his points on the season (he has 23 total) to propel VeloRooms to the final spot of glory for the year. Their team did need over 150 points to move from 103rd to 102nd though, so there was no movement in the charts and thus no High Movers for the week.

Update #26: laarsland wins calm week before full on Tour madness begins

This update is for the week that ended July 7th, which included the first two stages of the Tour and the Sibiu Cycling Tour. The Tour is always an interesting time of year for the game, as other major stage races generally don't overlap (aside from Pologne in Olympic years), and although the stage points at the Tour are high, the best talent in the sport is there which sometimes means that the highest scorers aren't riders that are picked much in this game. With the first weekend down, let's see who came away the best (hint: it's the three teams who picked Teunissen).

    This Week's Top Scorers

    Rank   Team   Points this week
    1   laarsland   343
    2   Jancouver   295
    3   repre   285
    4   Joelsim   273
    5   oliveira   255

laarsland gets the win this week, the basis of which rests on the twin pillars of Mike Teunissen (140 points, 3 teams) and Kevin Rivera (142 points, 30 teams), the latter of which finally lived up to the promise he showed a couple of years ago by winning in Romania. Jancouver nabs second with Rivera as well as the rare (11 teams) Daniel Felipe Munoz, who scored 90 points this week to bring his total to 266 on a cost of 2. repre slides into third with the same combo as Jancouver.

    This Week's High Movers

    Rank   Team   Up/down
    1   laarsland   (+17)
    2   Joelsim   (+12)
    3   repre   (+11)
    4   PremierAndrew   (+9)
    4   Jancouver   (+9)

This list looks very similar to the first one, with a low-point week leading to only a handful of double digit leaps in the standings. Joelsim is a new podium member here, yet another team with the Rivera-Munoz combo.

    Green Jersey Competition

    Rank   Team   Total
    1   MADRAZO   185
    2   armchairclimber   175
    3   skidmark   171
    4   ruvu75   166
    5   Jancouver   161

A new entry into the top 5 this week as Jancouver's 35 points on the week is enough to bring their team's total to a top-5-cracking 161. No other points near the top this week

    Top 10 Overall

    Rank   Up/down   Team   Points
    1   (-)   karaev   9291
    2   (-)   fauniera   9176
    3   (-)   skidmark   9025
    4   (-)   Kryvo   8900
    5   (-)   Nyssinator   8707
    6   (+2)   ruvu75   8661
    7   (+2)   SafeBet   8654
    8   (-2)   Object   8600
    9   (-2)   TheArt   8574
    10   (-)   Tigerion   8531

Very little movement up top to go with the subdued weekly points totals. karaev gains a whopping 9 points on fauniera, although both gain over 100 on team skidmark - however, Kryvo scored 4 points less than team skidmark, so there is no podium shuffle. A bit of place swapping further down the top 10, but no new teams coming in or teams falling out.

I've been out of commission/internet for the last month and a bit, but it looks like you guys weren't getting updates for a few weeks there - I can assure you that I'm back on the updates and will be posting them here every week until the end of the season.

Update #27: greenedge edges out the competition

The first week of the Tour is in the bag, and the 2.1 Tour of Austria took place this week as well - all in all another moderate week, with our weekly winner just clearing 300 points.

    This Week's Top Scorers

    Rank   Team   Points this week
    1   greenedge   305
    2   Salvarani   294
    2   zaka_fan   294
    4   Kryvo   275
    5   Tonton   271

greenedge takes the week on the performance of three riders: Wout van Aert (130 points), Caleb Ewan (120) and Ben O'Connor (55 from Austria). Second is a tie between Salvarani and zaka_fan - although both have Ewan, the former has a combo of O'Connor and Trentin to get the bulk of the rest of their points, zaka_fan gets 170 from unique pick Sagan finally shining some this season.

    This Week's High Movers

    Rank   Team   Up/down
    1   greenedge   (+10)
    2   Salvarani   (+9)
    2   ansimi   (+9)
    4   Leadbelly   (+6)
    4   Tonton   (+6)
    4   JPettersen   (+6)
    4   zlev11   (+6)

The jumps are unsurprisingly small and the leaderboard similar - ansimi steps up to the podium on this ranking while scoring 6th on the other ranking, thanks to Van Aert, Trentin, Philipsen.

    Green Jersey Competition

    Rank   Team   Total
    1   armchairclimber   193
    2   MADRAZO   185
    3   skidmark   171
    4   ruvu75   166
    5   Jancouver   161

We have a new leader! armchairclimber had been in second in this competition, but 18 points for a top 10 finish this week vaults their team into the top spot. No other scoring amongst top teams.

    Top 10 Overall

    Rank   Up/down   Team   Points
    1   (-)   karaev   9293
    2   (-)   fauniera   9193
    3   (+1)   Kryvo   9175
    4   (-1)   skidmark   9100
    5   (+2)   SafeBet   8858
    6   (-1)   Nyssinator   8841
    7   (-1)   ruvu75   8778
    8   (+2)   Tigerion   8702
    9   (-)   TheArt   8633
    10   (-2)   Object   8600

Some modest changes here, with the most notable leap being Kryvo, whose 4th place on the week and 275 points nets their team a podium spot. Leader karaev gets a mere 2 points on the week, but fauniera gains only a few, getting 17. No ins or outs in the top 10. This upcoming week will see more stage points from the Tour, as well as the 2.HC Qinghai Lake happening in Asia.

Update #28: Tonton gets the stage win, moves up overall

Another non-GC week in the Tour means the CQ points are at a simmer, not yet a boil. Next week will be the real reckoning, but in the meantime, there's a CQ week to be claimed!

    This Week's Top Scorers

    Rank   Team   Points this week
    1   Tonton   218
    2   PremierAndrew   166
    3   tobydawq   155
    4   AlyKaptan   152
    5   DFA123   150

When you have a unique pick that is coming off his best CQ year ever, you know you're a fan of the rider, and this is one of those weeks it all pays off. Tonton gets 135 points from Thibaut Pinot, 80 from Caleb Ewan, and 3 from Cees Bol and that's enough to win the week by a decent margin. Hopefully next week might be a big one too! PremierAndrew slots into second, getting points from a variety of riders including Landa and Ewan, while tobydawq claims third.

    This Week's High Movers

    Rank   Team   Up/down
    1   AlyKaptan   (+7)
    1   PremierAndrew   (+7)
    3   Salvarani   (+5)
    3   Tonton   (+5)
    3   Yellow Knight   (+5)

Not much movement this week - AlyKaptan ties PremierAndrew for first, on the strength of rare pick Groenwegen (50 points, 2 teams) and unique pick Grosu (66 points). As someone who picked Grosu two years in a row to see him do nothing, it's nice to see him pay off for someone at least.

    Green Jersey Competition

    Rank   Team   Total
    1   armchairclimber   193
    2   MADRAZO   185
    3   skidmark   171
    4   ruvu75   166
    5   Jancouver   161

No points scored by anyone in the top 5 (or 10 for that matter) - Jancouver gets 16th on the week and juuust misses out on some points.

    Top 10 Overall

    Rank   Up/down   Team   Points
    1   (-)   karaev   9339
    2   (-)   fauniera   9283
    3   (-)   Kryvo   9193
    4   (-)   skidmark   9125
    5   (+1)   Nyssinator   8918
    6   (-1)   SafeBet   8913
    7   (-)   ruvu75   8854
    8   (-)   Tigerion   8798
    9   (+2)   DFA123   8730
    10   (-1)   TheArt   8709

Everyone in the top 10 had fewer than 100 points this week, save DFA123 who joins the top 10 at the expense of Object, who just drops out. fauniera gains 44 points on karaev, whose lead is now 56 points. As next week has the Tour GC points, it's likely to be a big one - we shall see how it shakes out!

    Update #29: fauniera takes over

***note: I'm having trouble accessing dropbox to get a link to the full file, so I will try to post that tomorrow - for now, here's the update and leaders***

After a slow boil for the last 3 weeks, Tour GC points were given out, and we had to wait until the last weekend to have an idea of who was going to get the big ones (and, sadly for last week's winner Tonton, it went the wrong way for Pinot). Let's see what kind of huge scores were put up this week.

    This Week's Top Scorers

    Rank   Team   Points this week
    1   del1962   1835
    2   fauniera   1793
    3   Popchu   1720
    4   trackstand   1639
    5   Geraint Too Fast   1618

The top 2 of the week already showed their own calculations on this thread, but they are confirmed with the update. With 1835 points - 798 from Bernal leading the way naturally, but also over 100 from Quintana, Porte, Nibali, Aru and Gaudu - del1962 takes the week with a monster score. Second place fauniera gets close with 1793 (Bernal, Landa, Nibali, Aru, Gaudu, Padun), but won't be too broken up about missing the win as their team was in second overall heading into the week, so there are bigger fish to fry. Popchu grabs the third spot, with Bernal and Quintana leading the way, and 110 points from unique pick Lutsenko on top of some more popular names that have been mentioned already.

    This Week's High Movers

    Rank   Team   Up/down
    1   del1962   (+43)
    2   Geraint Too Fast   (+29)
    3   18-Valve. (pithy)   (+28)
    4   bminchow   (+25)
    5   trackstand   (+24)
    5   Hugo Koblet   (+24)

del1962 doubles up this week, moving up over a third of the table, a huge 43-spot leap. Geraint Too Fast gets it together too this week, moving up almost 30 spots on the strength of a Bernal/Quintana/Nibali/Aru/Padun backbone, while 18-Valve is right behind thanks almost entirely to a strong quartet of Bernal/Quintana/Ewan/Porte.

    Green Jersey Competition

    Rank   Team   Total
    1   armchairclimber   193
    2   MADRAZO   185
    3   skidmark   171
    4   ruvu75   166
    5   Popchu   163

No change at the very top, but Popchu nabs 5th overall from Jancouver after scoring 30 points for 3rd place this week.

    Top 10 Overall

    Rank   Up/down   Team   Points
    1   (+1)   fauniera   11076
    2   (-1)   karaev   10695
    3   (+3)   SafeBet   10305
    4   (+10)   shalgo   10103
    5   (+3)   Tigerion   9963
    6   (-1)   Nyssinator   9846
    6   (+6)   tobydawq   9846
    8   (-1)   ruvu75   9828
    9   (-)   DFA123   9778
    10   (-7)   Kryvo   9743

And there ARE some big changes here, as expected. Second on a week as high-scoring as this vaults fauniera into the lead by almost 400 points over previous leader karaev. Safebet leaps onto the podium at the expense of Kryvo, who tumbles all the way down to 10th. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the top 5 teams all have Bernal, but perhaps surprisingly, only two teams hop into the top 10 - the aforementioned shalgo, as well as tobydawq. TheArt and skidmark drop out of the top 10.

Update #31: Game Founder Leaves a Mark on 2019

This week saw most of the action in the Tour de Pologne, which - after tragedy struck on stage 3 - resumed action and ended with a very close GC. The European championships were happening as well, although most points were scored by either very popular or unpicked riders, so that didn't affect the game as much.

    This Week's Top Scorers

    Rank   Team   Points this week
    1   Hugo Koblet   692
    2   yoyokt   629
    3   merengues   615
    4   Eric10   550
    5   Londonpat   537

The founder of the CQ game gets his due this week, as Hugo Koblet tops the field with almost 700 points. Of course, Hugo was one of the 21 teams with Pavel Sivakov and his 242 points for winning Pologne, but also was one of the 12 teams with Jai Hindley and his 179 points for second (and, incredibly, was one of 2 teams with Vingegaard - imagine the week for Hugo if he had held on to the lead instead of fading and getting 'only' 57 for the week). Of course, 50 points for the unstoppable and popular Remco helped out as well, and 59 points for James Knox (10 teams). yoyokt slides into second with 629 on the week, with a very similar lineup to Hugo sans Vingegaard. merengues captures the final podium spot, once again with Sivakov/Hindley/Knox/Evenepoel leading the way. Incredible that Sivakov/Hindley/Knox were on 21/12/10 teams respectively, and all 3 have that combo. Congrats!

    This Week's High Movers

    Rank   Team   Up/down
    1   yoyokt   (+17)
    1   Hugo Koblet   (+17)
    3   merengues   (+16)
    4   Londonpat   (+15)
5   Blues in the bottle   (+13)

The same top 3 populate this ranking, although instead of Hugo winning alone, the honors are shared with yoyokt.

    Green Jersey Competition

    Rank   Team   Total
    1   armchairclimber   211
    2   ruvu75   192
    3   TheArt   190
    4   MADRAZO   185
    5   skidmark   174

No movement in the top 5; team skidmark scores 3 points for tying for 14th this week, but doesn't move up any spots. Kryvo and yoyokt move into the top 10 a little further down, but no shuffling of the top 5.

    Top 10 Overall

    Rank   Up/down   Team   Points
    1   (-)   fauniera   11750
    2   (-)   karaev   11648
    3   (-)   SafeBet   10700
    4   (+2)   Tigerion   10637
    5   (-1)   shalgo   10574
    6   (-1)   ruvu75   10524
    7   (+5)   Kryvo   10484
    8   (+3)   skidmark   10435
    9   (-2)   TheArt   10400
    10   (-2)   DFA123   10342

The rich got richer yet again this week, as the only members of the top 10 from last week with Sivakov were teams #1 and 2 (although Tigerion had Hindley). fauniera extends their team's lead by 21 points over karaev - this is going to be a good battle the rest of the season! Sivakov-havers Kryvo and skidmark leap back into the top 10, while Nyssinator and tobydawq fall out.

I just realized to my chagrin that I had failed to post last week's update... I had written it up and posted it here, but I guess I tried to attach the file rather than link to it, and it had given me a message that the file was too big. But I had already switched tabs, and didn't look at that other tab until now when I was going to post again, sorry about that! I'll make sure they get posted for the rest of the season.

Update #32: Akuryo has a week to remember

With Laurens De Plus having a breakout win at the BinckBank Tour, the 24 teams who picked him were bound to be happy this week. As always, rounding out that pick with riders who did well in the other races of the week (Burgos, Arctic Race of Norway) is crucial to win the week.

    This Week's Top Scorers

    Rank   Team   Points this week
    1   Akuryo   843
    2   Jon_Ezeitza   772
    3   vladimir   753
    4   Jakob747   752
    5   Leadbelly   725

Akuryo has a fantastic week, especially for mid-August, clearing 800 points. Their team was led by De Plus' 252 for winning BinckBank, and Barguil's 148 points for allllmost winning Arctic Tour of Norway (he's on 12 teams). Aside from that, Lucas Hamilton (10 teams) had 105, Garcia Cortina (14 teams) had 95, and a smattering of riders contributed a handful each. Jon Ezeitza has a fine second place showing, with of course De Plus but also 226 from Ivan Sosa (3 teams) and 126 from Marc Hirschi (10 teams). vladimir just squeezes into third over Jakob747 thanks to De Plus, Barguil, and 117 more from the gift that keeps on giving to 3 teams, Mike Teunissen.

    This Week's High Movers

    Rank   Team   Up/down
    1   Leadbelly   (+18)
    2   Jakob747   (+15)
    3   vladimir   (+13)
    4   Jon_Ezeitza   (+12)
    5   HelgeBlendet   (+11)
    5   Eyeballs Out   (+11)

A different champ here, as Leadbelly leaps 18 spots to claim the biggest jump of the week, benefiting from having a number of unique and rare picks hit this week. Of course De Plus is the power, but Calmejane (115, 2 teams) and unique picks Krists Neilands (109 points), Michael Kukrle (73 points) and Matteo Badilatti (44 points) sure help out. Jakob747 does make the podium on this one, with De Plus/Hamilton/Eg/Cosnefroy leading the way. vladimir repeats on the podium here as well.

    Green Jersey Competition

    Rank   Team   Total
    1   armchairclimber   211
    2   ruvu75   192
    3   TheArt   190
    4   MADRAZO   185
    5   Kryvo   177

Kryvo scores 14 points on the week to squeeze team skidmark out of the top 5; aside from that, no scoring by the overall leaders.

    Top 10 Overall

    Rank   Up/down   Team   Points
    1   (-)   fauniera   11918
    2   (-)   karaev   11872
    3   (+4)   Kryvo   11120
    4   (-)   Tigerion   11094
    5   (-2)   SafeBet   11074
    6   (+8)   Hakkie2   10868
    7   (-1)   ruvu75   10857
    8   (-)   skidmark   10841
    9   (-4)   shalgo   10815
    10   (+2)   Eric10   10759

Things are interesting at the top - neither of the top 2 had a particularly good week, each finishing outside the top 80 scorers. However, karaev gained 56 points on fauniera and is now just 46 points back. Those two are in a class of their own, but below it's quite tight, with less than 50 points separating 3rd from 5th, and just over 100 points separating 6th through 10th. Hakkie2 and Eric10 jump into the top 10, while TheArt and DFA123 slide out.

By far the highest I've been this late in the year. :o

Calmejane and Cosnefroy are in position to deliver some more points this week too.
