E3 BinckBank Classic

Friday, March 29th

After the disappointing race in de Panne on Wednesday, the classics season in Belgium continues with the former E3 Prijs Harelbeke on Friday, now named after the Dutch BinckBank. There's no Eikenberg on the schedule for the riders this year, but apart from that the course is largely unchanged compared to recent editions, which most of the times were very entertaining:

As usual, the startlist looks great:

What a lovely race! And the finale! CLASSIC one-two punch, done to perfection. I can not help but feel a bit sorry for GVA and van Aert.

Team work is nothing new, but LeFevre has brought it to a crowning glory of excellence these past two years. No stars, they are all stars and it's all about the team. Makes for a great winning strategy!

It was a good race.  Good strategy for DQS ... they had a man in everything.  1 off the front in Jungels, and then at least 1 in each of the groups.

Chasing Jungels meant that Stybar didnt have to do anything in the last 40km - and then Jungels holding on once he was caught was very important in the one-two that they had going.

I did feel for GVA as he did a truckload to get into the position that he did ...
