It's strange that Savio didn't keep him. This is very much a sideways move (maybe even a bit downwards).

Don't forget Androni will no longer be sponsoring the team and with no news yet on a replacement, you can imagine that Gianni might not be able to offer bigger contracts and that the riders themselves might take offers from other teams if they come along.

    yeah, a bit odd. In the Bardiani statement it says "In 2020 Kevin Rivera will still be involved in the Imola World Championships this weekend with the Costa Rica jersey, and then will focus to prepare for the new season, in Bardiani CSF Faizanè jersey", which doesn't really sound like he'll race for Androni much (or at all) anymore.
    Sounds like something happened between Rivera and Savio that meant they're not friends anymore.

    Don't forget Androni will no longer be sponsoring the team and with no news yet on a replacement, you can imagine that Gianni might not be able to offer bigger contracts and that the riders themselves might take offers from other teams if they come along.
    True; but I was under the impression Rivera still had at least one year to go with Savio's Little Helpers.
    But since he started his contract in 2017, he's done four years with #androni already.
    Time flies! :o

    It would be a shame if that was the reason. Politt went to the Tour after all and he's leaving. There is still the Vuelta, but his lack of racing does make me think that it too is off the menu.

    Tonight's rumour in the Norwegian press is
    #ef Kristoffer Halvorsen ---> #unox

    "No comment" from #unox cycling boss Haugland

    About Halvorsen, he has been struggling mentally during the corona crisis, won't race anymore this year as he is not well prepared for it,  and supposedly, he has accepted a 40% pay cut from #ef.  The one kind of rider that seems to be lacking in #unox is the sprinter that can win against serious competition. Doffen, as he is called, definetly has that capacity at his best, although it is more and more clear that #jumbo Amund Grøndal Jansen was a very important part of the U-23 world championship title.

    He does know how to beat Cees Bool though.

    Finally we have some rumors for EOLO-Kometa beyond the speculation about Aru.

    According to Gazzetta's Ciro, good old Belletti could join :dizzy
    https://twitter.com/cirogazzetta/status/1316684894815358976

    Tuttobici believes the following are among the new signings:
    #androni Luca Pacioni
    #uae Edward Ravasi
    #tirol Samuele Rivi
    #friuli Davide Bais

    Tuttobici also mentions that Alessandro Fancellu will spend one more year with the team; he originally had an agreement with #trek for 2021 and 2022, as well as Antonio Puppio, who apparently also has an agreement with #trek for 2022 which I wasn't aware of.

    probably. Also #ccc Zakarin is rumored to have found a new home at #gazprom Gazprom-Rusvelo.

    confirmed now :cheer

    “I had an offer to stay in the World Tour, however when Renat (Khamidulin) contacted me and offered to join Gazprom-RusVelo I changed my mind. It is an exciting feeling to return to the team which played a vital role in my cycling career and where I would feel like home, because I know almost every teammate in person. The same applies to team Sport Director Dmitry Konyshev with whom we have worked and achieved great results together.”

    Zakarin continues: “Speaking about my goals, I would like to be straight on the point — my aim is not to only share my experience, but to demonstrate maximum and achieve new victories with the team. We have already talked with team management about the race calendar of 2021. The stage-races in the first part of season will be my main focus and I will do my best to be at my peak form in spring.”

    More #unox rumours today...

    #unox #champeu (U23) Jonas Iversby Hvideberg --> #sunweb

    (Still just a TV2 rumour but they were right about #ef Doffen, so....)

    #sunweb apparently being seen as an attractive team for these youngsters, despite all the criticism levelled at the team by more experienced riders.

    Maybe because it looks a bit like a development team at WT level?

    With the ever shrinking pool of cobbled riders that hadn't chosen to move elsewhere or extend with their team (Teuns, Trentin, GVA and Jungels all linked), this transfer was on the cards.

    Three years seems excessive again, but maybe this is the only way they could guarantee the signing. If it was me a one-year deal would have made better sense or taking a punt on Valgren instead (even if he's not a specialist on the cobbles per se).

    Yes, I think that's it.
    With all their structured stuff, #sunweb are a good destination for your first foray into the WT world. You can always sign for another team once your neo-pro deal is up. ;)
