Re: Tour de Pologne

The Tour of Poland takes place this this week, and there will be a total of 7 stages. On Saturday, August 3rd, the "Grand Depart" will kick things off from Krakow, the historical and cultural capital of Poland. The final finish line on Friday, August 9th, will be set up in Bukowina Tatrzanska, in the heart of the Tatra Mountains, so the finale will feature lots of climbs. In between there will be plenty of fantastic sprints, spectacular climbing arrivals and terrain that will be perfect for breaks
This looks like a decent parcours, and I understand the decision to concentrate the race in a region with hilly terrain.

But when every part of the race route is within 150 km from Kraków, it's less of a "Tour de Pologne" and more of a "Tour de Silésie et Petite-Pologne"[1]. ;)
 1. The region around Kraków is called Malopolska; in English, it's Lesser Poland, in French, Petite-Pologne.
