L'Avenir claims 4 Aevolo[1] riders (including Hecht) and that is why they have three stagiaires riding here - Schunk (ex-CCB), Brunner (ex-303) and McGill.
 1. Hagens Berman are providing none. Must be the team's choice to not allow them to participate
Hmm. Brunner is under normal contract with the team (mid-season transfer from 303), but Schunk, as you say, raced with CCB when they were a Conti team last year - and that ought to preclude him from a stagiaire deal:
In the period between 1 August* and 31 December, each UCI Continental team or UCI women’s continental team may engage two under-23 trainees on the following conditions:
- The rider may not previously have ridden for a UCI road team;

It appears the UCI has no objection to this - but whether that is because the US scene is a bit different or simply because nobody noticed that Schunk is technically ineligible is anyone's guess. :shh
