Turul Ciclist al RomânieiSeptember 11th to 15thAfter last year's return to the cycling calender, the Tour of Romania is back for 2019 as well - and this time as
2.1 UCI race.
The race starts in Cluj on Wednesday, and finishes in Bucharest after a five day journey through the country:
Stage 1: Cluj - Sighisoara
Stage 2: Brasov - Focsani
Stage 3: Buzau - Targoviste
Stage 4: Ploiesti - Piatra Arsa
(~23k at 5% average)
Stage 5: Bucharest - Bucharest
Things got sorted a bit late, so there are no PCT teams around for the race, but quite a decent list of teams could be brought together for the race:
CCC Development Team
Cycling Team Friuli
Elkov Author
Giotti Victoria
LKT Team Brandenburg
Lokosphinx
Monkey Town - A BLOC CT
National Team Belarus
National Team Estonia
National Team Moldavia
National Team Poland
National Team Romania
National Team Russia
National Team Slovakia
Pannon Cycling Team
Team Illuminate
Team Novak
Voster ATS Team

brings Valter to compete with last year's winner

Tvetcov, and also

Schlegel or

Torres are some good guys for GC. For the sprints, there are

Grosu,

Kankovsky or

Laas, among others - but last year there were strong attacks every day, no matter the profile. So although most stages look fairly flat, there won't be necessarily too many sprints.
I'll be heading to Cluj on Monday and will be around for the week, so it better be fun

.
There's live coverage on
Livestream Romania as well, but I won't be doing the commentary
