The 2020 Winners and Not So Winners List
« on: January 12, 2020, 20:12 »
So which teams will be the last to get a win this year?

In 2019, for the second year in a row, Sunweb were the last WT squad to get onto the top step of the podium. Team Novo Nordisk were the PCT wooden spooners as they failed to get a single win.

Nationals don't count.

The almost obligatory Androni win to kick things off.

I-SUN probably the favourites from the WT. Things are more interesting down in PCT with quite a few weaker teams. Ignoring Novo Nordisk, I might be tempted to go for Rally at this early stage.

What's this "first EF win of the season" that Vaughters was bragging about on Twitter the other day?

The link made no sense to me. Was it just his weird sense of humor, or some obscure event that transpired?

    It was a beach race.

Maybe I should amend the first post for JV - "nationals and beach races don't count".

Huh. Looks like it's getting crowded out there.

They call it the future of cycling, but clearly that isn’t ever going to be the case in Europe. Maybe in the US.

Thank goodness nobody new won the Trofeo Felanitx, Ses Salines, Campos, Porreres. That race always messes up the formatting.

    :lol
Pro tip for that: Don't use a comma as the CSV table divider, but some other symbol - a semicolon or a tilde ~ aren't used in anything you'd want to make a CSV table out of.

I meant more by the sheer length of the race name, but the commas wouldn't have helped either. :P

Anyway, over half of the WT teams are off the mark. Three more down and we'll get a poll going.

......and just like that, we are down to six.

     #astana
     #bahrain
     #ccc
     #ef
     #mitchelton
     #ineos

Mitchelton are bound to win early tomorrow morning, the Colombian EF contingent are in good form. Not so sure about the other four teams.

Think I'll go for CCC. Poll added.

    WT has it's winner/loser - CCC.

I thought they were going to break their duck on the final stage in Murcia when Trentin got into the group of ~10 that contested the finish, but he didn't seem too interested.

Nice win for Riwal. They've been going quite well since the restart. :cool

That also means we're down to the final six unless I've missed a win somewhere.

    #wallonie :o

    #burgos

    #fundacion

    #gazprom

    #vlaanderen

    #novonordisk

Can't be many races left for most of them. Maybe only Bingoal and Sport Vlaanderen have a realistic chance to break their ducks.
