It seems to be a matter of him always going off towards the end, something Sky can change if it is the first stage yet they seem reticent to do.

Rain in itself, regardless of how technical will mean the road is wet, which means slower times.

clearly it makes a difference but some people are still doing reasonable times and not losing a bucketload.

Rain getting worse!

Though the fact that the course has long straights means that it won't have a major effect.
