Fignon - In my day, doping methods were derisory and the riders´exploits were massive.
For the last 15 years or so  it has been the other way rond: there is a huge number of ways in which riders can dope, and any exploits are derisory.

Probably, Tony Martin will lose lots of time on the Joux Plane and I'd imagine that Rogers would be a workhorse for Wiggins on the early slopes of the Joux Plane so yes I think Evans will move up two spots. The technical descent off the Joux Plane should help guys like Nibali and Evans imo.

The battle on the Joux Plane should be great. I am expecting Wiggins and Vandenbroeck to do well.

Wiggins will lose a lot of time on the descent on the Joux Plane, assuming he wont be attacking on it.

I'm a bit worried.  The TV guide has SBS Two finishing their coverage at 11pm... surely that is not going to happen.  It starts at 9:30 which is nice... but not if we miss the 2 hours of the stage.

I see on letour.fr that they have changed the times.  I looked earlier and it looked like a normal stage, now it is early.

I am reading some comments about why Evans attacked over the top of the climb ad then again. Firstly, Evans said he wanted to go for the stage win but admitted that Quintana was too good and "one to watch in the future". I also think he wanted to take that 2nd spot off Rogers. I don't understand some of the criticism from people considering that Evans actually made the race rather interesting for what was not an overly interesting stage.

I enjoyed Evans' attack, it was fun to watch a classy descender put the hammer down like that. The final stage is another possibility for a stage win for Evans but Moreno will be tough to beat on such a finish.

yeah this was just a 'test out' for Cadel.

see how things go, when to try for it, testing out exactly how strong Sky are etc.

I think he will be pretty happy with 3rd.  Dont think he cares much if he wins or not, just wants to make sure he is around the mark of where he wants to be.

And puts a little bit of doubt into the mind of Wiggins.

Who criticised Evans? I just questioned why he did it a month before the main race when he could really have caught Sky off guard.
