Fignon - In my day, doping methods were derisory and the riders´exploits were massive.
For the last 15 years or so  it has been the other way rond: there is a huge number of ways in which riders can dope, and any exploits are derisory.

I enjoyed that last stage when I finally settled into watching it after realising that San Sebastian was on Tuesday. :fp

My impression has always been that the famous Flemish bergs don't really work in summer when they're not part of some muddy, hard-fought Classic, but yesterday the racing was a bit more interesting than I expected.

This had partly to do with witnessing the once-only moment of Contador driving a select group up the Muur. Contador followed by guys like Boom, Boonen and Nuyens. Contador really pulling hard, not sitting in for the extra racing miles. For a brief moment we were watching the racing of the 1980s and early 90s. When you saw GC boys in all seasons:

yeah last nights stage was fun.

showed what the Eneco Tour could be ... rather than some lame piece of shyte decided by time trialing only.

They just need to put in 1 harder stage with a few hills instead of 1 of the sprint stages, and it would be a good stage race.

Well done to Boom - he was the strongest and best.

And great for Ballan winning on the cobbles too   :win
