Fignon - In my day, doping methods were derisory and the riders´exploits were massive.
For the last 15 years or so  it has been the other way rond: there is a huge number of ways in which riders can dope, and any exploits are derisory.

Great news for a team to be getting sponsor interest, what ever you think about the set up and the way they entered the WT, they have performed and if they find a sponsor they could be around for a long time which will be good for cycling.

Now they just need to get a balanced team

Any rumours floating about as to who it might be? I know it's only a couple more hours but that's past my bedtime.  :)  No really, it is.

Only name I've heard put out there is Huawei, the Chinese telecom company.  Personally I'm hoping they'll be sponsored by Tim Tam biscuits. Tim Tam Team, anyone?  :D

Team Tim Tam would have been wonderful.  :)

Looks like it's Orica, though.  Team to be known as Orica-GreenEDGE, at least if this Twatter page is anything to go by:

Apparently

Orica is an Australian-based multinational corporation. It's the biggest mining explosives supplier in the world.

So this is why they did not recruit climbers, they will just blow up any mountain that gets in the way.

"Memorandum of Understanding"

LOL, we can pull out when we want too.

Still, 3 years is good, that's an extra year than Ryan's sugar-daddy promise I think so might allay some people's concerns.

Nothing about whether they'll be sole naming sponsors come 2013. Not sure how the re-imaged kit will look it, the integrated one looks ok but combining blue+white and green+black? ???

I don't think the kit will have much GreenEdge branding on it, just the name/logo somewhere. Remember when Columbia got in with THR, they went from white and big Highroad logo to pretty blue Columbia design.

Happy for the team but that is a particularly ugly copy-pasting of the sponsor's logo.  ;D

On the mid-season jersey changes: first an Argos fail and now GE fail. Come on, folks. Remember ONCE!

It's only intended to be a copy paste... the announcement came too close to the beginning of the Giro to embark on a complete overhaul. Thus they will hold the new design until the Tour in order to get maximum exposure.

It is like having a diet coke with you big mac.

Owning the bike team cancels out all their pollution

So in the same way that a large coke can cancel out the chips as well a green cycling team can cancel out an entire freighter ship of explosive toxic chemicals
