yeh, maybe. I am also curious to see what the Yates brothers (mostly Simon, to be precisely) can do in the Brabantse Pijl tomorrow though.

...and while I am posting here anyway, RIDE did some cobbles talk with Hayman

Good to see Matthews getting a Giro start, it may be a year overdue? He has taken some stick for not developing at a similar rate to Degenkolb (who's actually 18 months older) but I'm not sure he's quite the same type of rider.

Interesting to see Gerrans talked down re: Liege, will this mean that Clarke could get a chance? IMHO he can surprise in the right circumstances, like his solid worlds last year.

Have to say that I'm liking Michael Matthew's form atm, he won Rioja and last night's Pais Vasco stage quite convincingly. If I was Stephens he'd probably have to go into the Tour as the protected sprinter this year.

It's been good to see him take some results in the last 6 months, as I've been following him a bit ever since he passed us A graders on Mt Hotham at the Tour of Bright about 6 years ago - as a B grader, starting about 10 minutes after! Best part is, he'd been riding for less than a year at that stage  :o :o :o

I was wondering the same question... perhaps a game of Aussie Rules. Or Alligator wrestling?

Good interview.

I really like Simon Gerrans ... he seems to be a really down to earth guy.

And I dont know if its Australian bias, but I really like OGRE as a team.  The backstage passes really add to that for me, as they let you in a bit.

Haven't read the piece yet, I just want to say:
Any guy who'd voluntarily pass on the #yellow to a teammate has my deepest respect. A team player in the truest sense of the word. :cool

Nice interview with Gerrans:

http://velonews.competitor.com/2014/02/news/gerrans-qa-australian-would-give-up-yellow-again-for-a-close-mate_317428

He comes across as a decent bloke:
- cover most of his career from discovery by Phil Anderson to the recent win at TdU
- reveals his winning formula - calculation plus planning rather than talent
- reveals how he decided to give away the yellow jersey and how it was approved
- his views on team leadership
- a bit shallow on O'Grady (he is my mate and can't imagine what he went through)
- the winning formula for the Back Stage Pass - producer is a good guy.
