Those races in China are for the UCI to pocket money. IMO. If UCI was serious about China i think Li Fuyu would not have been popped for Clen, or he would've got off like all the other athlete's that competed in China who subsequently tested positive for Clen.

Sorry was making an attempt at a  joke in regards WT points  O0
Fignon - In my day, doping methods were derisory and the riders´exploits were massive.
For the last 15 years or so  it has been the other way rond: there is a huge number of ways in which riders can dope, and any exploits are derisory.

Missed it.  :fp

The UCI just makes me angry. i am all for expanding the sport and especially into the growing economies of the east, but it has to be done with a lot of planning with the current race organisers and federations. I mean if we are going to lose races then maybe those organisers can be brought in to assist the development of the new events.

But that would mean that the UCI are doing it for the good of the sport and for their own personal gain.

Gilbert with no spring wins! Wonder how much his contract is and whether he is kicking himself for not going to OPQS?

Well the Ardennes are his races and the team supported him a lot better in those races than OPQS could. Gilbert's problems are his own form. I dont think that was going to change no matter what team he was on.

Pretty dismal start to the year for BMC. If Cadel can win the tour, Gilbert/Cadel wins either the worlds or Lombardia the season will still be considered a success though.

Which comes back to my earlier question.  After the season he has had so far, will Gilbert be peaking to give his best effort to Cadel at the Tour, or will he be paying more attention to his own form so that he is ready for the remaining races he will be targeting a little while later?

My suspicion is the latter. I wouldn't be surprised if the decision is made for Gilbert to skip the tour. The only reason I can see him wanting to participate is a start in Liege.
