Kick Ass cycling videos. Hall of fame.
« on: January 24, 2012, 03:00 »
This forum has some advantages over that other place.

I see no reason to wait in exploiting these advantages.

Put whatever awesome cycling videos (preferably a home made compilation rather than ES highlights) on here.

Ill start.

Despite the self-serving data benders and associated propaganda to the contrary, I am led to believe that there are pockets of organised, highly sophisticated dopers, even within 'new age' cycling teams. Personally, I don't accept that the 'dark era' has ended, it has just morphed into a new guise.

Okay, so after 8 videos I get the message "(Embedding disabled, limit reached)"

Anyone else get this too?

Fixed. unlimited embedding now enabled, but still restricted to 1 per post to keep threads managable

Can´t believe this one is not on the list yet

Fignon - In my day, doping methods were derisory and the riders´exploits were massive.
For the last 15 years or so  it has been the other way rond: there is a huge number of ways in which riders can dope, and any exploits are derisory.

1973 Giro

Enjoyed that so much. 1973 year of my birth and god things were different. Eddy Merckx was just incredible. the strength of the man, riding the whole field off his wheel day after day.

The section on the time trial was just beautiful and made me want to get back on my (having only just finished my ride). Some commentators could learn that sometimes less is more. Listening to the bike hum as he rides.

but the water carrier section is the gold. filling there own bottles at the side of the road. coming out of pubs with coke and beer or grabbing cokes off a passing truck. My favorite moment was seeing the water carrier with a bottle opener round his neck.

Just fantastic

I cannot believe that this has not been posted - one of the finest ends to any Classic. Milan San-Remo 1992.
(This is a 10min version - so it includes coverage of the group on the Poggio just before the elastic snaps.)
