Quote
The Tour of Denmark was first settled in 1985 with the Copenhagen Winter Lane as an organizer. The race was run annually until 1988, after which it met seven-year hiatus.

In 1995, the DCU and Post Denmark to revive the event. Right from the first stage, starting in Esbjerg, it was a great popular success. In the golden "Riis-day" - until 1997 - followed more than 1 million spectators during out at roadside markets, and nearly as many came over every night on television.

Over the years, the audience found its natural level by half a million spectators along the route and over the following weeks, more than half of the population over the media, television, radio, newspapers or the Internet. Thus inform more than three million people on the Tour.

No other sporting event in Denmark can muster such interest. Tour of Denmark involving the entire country and has developed into a significant international sporting event, the world's best cycling teams will start the event with a number of big stars, former world champions, national champions and top riders.

In 2012, running the course for 22 time. It is located in the UCI's category system as a 2.HC race. It has a cash budget of 5,100,000 DKK, which may be a not quite definable amount represents the value of the "free services", the course gets from municipalities, sponsors and partners. The race prize fund is £ 580,000

Wiggo out, busy drinking. Cav might win a stage, who knows. G and Kennaugh coming back to the road for flipping good we all hope.

Watch out for G and Kennaugh they are obviously in truly terrific form coming of the back of the Olympics and the only question is whether they will have enough in their legs for the longer distances rather than the shorter distances of the TP.

They are both immensely talented riders though and we should see them going well in the TT hopefully. Ideally they would have completed the necessary transition to the road in time for the WC where they can truly make an impact on a course which suits them..

G and Ken might do well in the ITT but track to road is always a shock to the system at first, they'll struggle.

You might be right. With Wiggo out, though, I can't work out who Sky's GC contender will be. Cos I can't see GB focussing on any of those for the Worlds. Maybe they'll ride for Cav like in ZLM.

Yeh exactly what I think, as the Giro demonstrated with G who was used to the shorter distances so struggled on everything bar the Prologue.

An interesting team though sent by Sky though even without Wiggins, with Cav for the sprints and Nordhaug for the overall and some strong riders like Rogers, if Rogers is in any semblance of his Tour form then he may be capable of repeating his BR win here if he can compete on the harder stage and take it in the TT.

Fignon - In my day, doping methods were derisory and the riders´exploits were massive.
For the last 15 years or so  it has been the other way rond: there is a huge number of ways in which riders can dope, and any exploits are derisory.

Queen stage today...
Logically Greipel should lose the lead, but instead Greipel has gone on the attack...
He seems to be in a group with Schumacher, Rasmussen, Boonen, Bak and others with 5 km to go..

Double up for the Norwegians:

Stage 3
1. Lars Petter Nordhaug
2. Wilco Kelderman
3. Ramunas Navardauskas
4. Stefan Schumacher
5. Jelle Vanendert

Stage 4
1. Alexander Kristoff
2. Andrew Fenn
3. Theo Bos
4. Mark Cavendish
5. Sonny Colbrelli

GC before tonight's time trial
1. Lars Petter Nordhaug
2. Alexander Kristoff + 1 second
3. Andre Greipel  + 3
4. Wilco Kelderman + 4
5. Ramunas Navardauskas + 6

Looking good for Kelderman and Navardauskas, but don't discount guys like Schumacher (at 10 seconds), Manuele Boaro and Damien Gaudin (at 13 seconds). Lieuwe Westra (21 seconds), Tom Boonen, Lars Bak, Michael Rogers and Gustav Larsson (all at 23 seconds) could contend, but are probably slightly too far down to go all the way.

Indeed clever advice Starfire not to ignore Westra who won the TT tonight and subsequently takes the leaders jersey..

1 Lieuwe Westra (Ned) Vacansoleil-DCM Pro Cycling Team 0:16:36.63
2   Geraint Thomas (GBr) Sky Procycling   0:00:18.94
3   Manuele Boaro (Ita) Team Saxo Bank - Tinkoff Bank   0:00:21.94
4   Ramunas Navardauskas (Ltu) Garmin-Sharp   0:00:24.92
5   Casper Folsach (Den) Team Concordia Forsikring - Himmerland   0:00:27.92
6   Rasmus Quaade (Den) Blue Water Cycling   0:00:31.43
7   Rick Flens (Ned) Rabobank Cycling Team   0:00:31.81
8   Anton Vorobyev (Rus) Katusha Team   0:00:32.33
9   Damien Gaudin (Fra) Team Europcar   0:00:33.02
10   Sebastian Rosseler (Bel) Garmin-Sharp   0:00:34.23

Thomas impressive coming back from the track but total domination considering the stage was only 14.5km and the time gaps behind...
Wonder what happened to Wilco?
GC:
1 Lieuwe Westra (Ned) Vacansoleil-DCM Pro Cycling Team 17:09:51
2   Ramunas Navardauskas (Ltu) Garmin-Sharp   0:00:10
3   Manuele Boaro (Ita) Team Saxo Bank - Tinkoff Bank   0:00:14
4   Alexander Kristoff (Nor) Katusha Team   0:00:24
5   Damien Gaudin (Fra) Team Europcar   0:00:25
6   Andre Greipel (Ger) Lotto Belisol Team   0:00:31
7   Wilco Kelderman (Ned) Rabobank Cycling Team
8   Stefan Schumacher (Ger) Christina Watches - Onfone   0:00:35
9   Michael Rogers (Aus) Sky Procycling   0:00:38
10   Lars-Petter Nordhaug (Nor) Sky Procycling   0:00:41

Nordhaug drops into 10th...
Greipel impressive in 6th and similarly Kristoff...
But Westra seems to have the race sealed
