Where? Don't remember seeing any such, or was it via social networking? And is there any betting on the Tour de Kumano? Odds could be brilliant.

yeah asked if AJ was racing on twitter and Jono said he was talking himself up. do not rate my chances of finding a bookie that would know what the Tour de Kumano is let alone give me odds.

Or they could just type up some random numbers and Nippo could turn out as dark horses by the random odds, the odds could favour such a situation.

Bit worse than expected Jono? Or was it one purely for the sprinters?

Hong Kong going well again. Cheung got 3rd in Japan starting TT and second here

Think Richeze will be disappointed with his time, strike one to Giacoppo.

Judging from their placing some riders are not built for 700 m TTs

Japan was a 2km prologue, so similarish.

Strike 2 will be tomorrow, and it be Giacoppo.

Hehe, wouldn't mind a race there.

If there is a race up north in those parts(hills or mountains)...the pro peleton would be screaming bloody murder  ;D

Pretty much as expected. As one of the guys on my team said

'Jono takes 700m just to get up to speed'  ;D

But also given the technical nature, and the wet road, I pussy-footed it around the first turn on the bridge. Went in hot then braked and got some front wheel slide, so lost all speed and mojo right then and there :o

But pretty much as expected.

Are the hills large enough? The peak point is around 100 odd metres, that it's laps will get it in the climbers' favour, but I don't think Tony Giacoppo is too weak on the climbs, see the win in the Tour of Taiwan.

Thinking that stage 2, tomorrow, be the day for the climby folk.

Live stream for today's stage is up now

And they have a man in the break, now if only the stream were clearer I'd have an idea. Jono or Shaw maybe?

Breakaway going one way, the main group the other.

Right for break i have

21 - JANG Chan Jae from TSG
34 - IRIBE Shotaro from SMN
51 - Mr Shaw surely you can tell the difference between him and Jono
73 - NAKAMURA Makoto from BLZ
84 - WIESIAK Mariusz - which is interesting as he is one of the strongest sprinters in the field

Anyway, a half audacious 10 or so man attack was quickly gobbled up by the main group. Pace mustn't be electrifying with  a man, Shaw it seems, up front.

Nippo dragging along Tony Giacoppo now.

Takes a while just to recognise the team let alone the rider, grainy and shaky. Still, something's much better than nothing.

Just seen one of the ramps, it's short, but mighty steep.

Just more than a minute's lead for the break.

Defo not showing much racing, they are showing the banks of either the Akigagawa or Kumanogawa. Not sure which, or it could be something totally different :o

just saw a jarritos ad in the stream, mental.

Main group stringing out a bit, less than 20km to go.

Stream is terrible. this is like watching Japanese Porn

just lots of pixilated movement with the occasional grimacing face appearing through the blur. Looked to be the Nippo team on the front

It's like a vintage video game, one pixel fighting another.
