I expected a lot better from him too. He's Spanish national ITT champion! He just looked exhausted from the start, and I agree it seems like he gave up after a while.

Thanks (somewhat). I don't understand the sentiment behind the comment. People have often agreed with me on issue inculding you Havetts yet make similar comments towards me. Believe it or not, I also do know a thing or two about cycling.

Better to get the bad luck out the way early in the year and with his much longer program this year, having a slower start to the year may very well be a good thing.
