Two good signings for BMC. Oss is a hard worker, hopefully he'll be allowed to do some attacks himself instead of just leading out others. Nerz is a talented young rider too, Liquigas are losing a lot of great riders this year. But as long as they keep Sagan and Moser, they're alright.

Nordhaugg at Rabo is an interesting one, hadn't expected that... Hopefully he'll make some steps forward there, though it's Rabo, so I doubt it.

Seeing a lot of BS floating around the net as far as rumours go.

As far as sky goes, can confirm the riders out of contract.

Jeremy Hunt
David Appollonio - Signs for Ag2r
Alex Dowsett - renewing
Thomas Lofkvist - not renewing
Lars Peter Nordhaug - Moves to Rabobank
Micheal Rogers
Michael Barry - leaving, possibly to spidertech.

Flecha has one year remaining on his contract, but would be allowed to leave wages v expected performance

Hayman being rumoured to greenedge but Hayman still has a year remaining on his contract

Knees being rumoured to the new german team but again, has a year remaining on his contract.

Incomings

Moreno Moser being reported as subject from an approach by sky. Again, has a year remaining on his contract but may be allowed to leave, or if the team lose their main sponsor.

Andy Fenn rumored, again despite having a year remaining on his current contract.

Hmmm.... Don't really know what Rabo signed Nordhaug for. They don't really need a super domestique, and as for week long stage race talent they're pretty set with Gesink, Mollema, Kruijswijk and Sanchez (with Slagter and Keldermerckx as talents). As good as Nordhaug has been at times this year I don't see this as really improving their chances in pretty much any race next year. This signing has Raboflop written all over it.

No way Nordhaug will get a leadership/free role in the Spring Classics as long as Mollema and Gesink are fit

Is that German team still happening though? Seems unlikely they'll have enough time to launch before next year, right? Unless they'll start at a very low level and build the team over two or more years. Or they could take over the Leopard license and much of the roster, but that seems unlikely imo.

I think you answered your own question there :D

Dont worry, im sure once hes at Rabo he will perfect the art of falling off the bike throughout the spring before breaking his collarbone getting out of the bath.

I hope you didn't get the  impression that I was impugning Nordhaug's ability or achievements this year. If it came off like that I didn't mean it that way. He's been great. I just don't think this is a particularly good career move for him, results wise (although its probably a good move financially). I mean, I'm sure he doesn't expect Mollema and Gesink to work for him in Paìs Vasco or the Dauphine next year, whereas there are some teams which he could've gone to where he might have been able to stake a leadership claim on the basis of his '12 results.

agree, does not seem the best choice would have thought there was a raft of teams that would be prepared to give him a leaders role

Lars Petter Nordhaug from Team Sky has signed a two-year deal with Rabobank.
Hope to see him i the Tour de France next season.

Don't get Nordhaug's move to Rabo, makes no sense to me.  They already have a large selection of riders to contend for the races at which he excels - Ardennes and smaller stage races, and no guarantee that he will get leadership.  As Dim, said, bad career move imho, and annoying, as he is one of my favourite riders

I agree with this in terms of his career progression but I would also say that he really suits the Rabo style: he has that classic 'moderate' profile in which he rides well but his results will not really increase the pulse rate.

So yes, I would call this a sideways move rather than an upward move, from a rider who perhaps sees a Sky team increasingly focused on GT GCs.

Vanmarcke wants to ride the Vuelta, but he is only Garmin reserve. Possible is the fork in the stem that Garmin him if he would leave the team, not to take the Vuelta to gather UCI points. Currently it seems especially Rabobank contender to Vanmarcke to win.

so guessing they are suggesting that this team will not exist in 2013 either.

Vanmarcke needs a 'proper' Classics team: one that Garmin should actually be already with heavy guys like Bauer, Van Summeren, Maaskant and Haussler. On paper anyway.

Rabo has good Spring depth in guys like Wynants, Flens and Martens, but unless either of Boom or Breschel leaves (or else Breschel doesn't target the Classics) how would Vanmarcke fit in there?

If Boonen had done crap at OPQS this Spring, perhaps that would have been a good fit, but OPQS will (rightly) remain the Tommeke Show for at least another season.

Now Lotto is an interesting possibility if Vanmarcke gets on with the folks there. Lotto had little to offer beyond Roelandts and Bak in the Spring and could use a decent leader when not focused on VDB2/Vanendert and Greipel.

I think its a good move to leave sky, certainly if Froome stays. With Wiggins, Froome, Porte, Uran, Henao hes down the pecking order for stage races. But certainly dont think Rabo is the best place for him. Personally I think Garmin, maybe even one of the French teams where he could get a leaders role in some races would have been a better option.

Depends I guess what his aims are, if he thinks he can become a stage race rider, or just a one day lumpy stuff rider.

What is this new German team? The same dodgy one that was supposed to be signing Shleck? Anyway, if they have any sense of home scouting, they'd sign a sprinter that I never fail to big up.

Signed to give some Victorian  company for Jono. Seriously though, think I remember seeing him in a local rag as the rider close up type. Also, surely he'll not get the leadership at the Japan cup. Giacoppo leads if it's a sprint and Pat Shaw or Nearle if it's a tough edition.

Steve Chainel to AG2R

AG2R is obviously looking for some low cost, high quality sponsorship exposure by rocking more of the CX with John Gadret and now Steve.

Chainel, famous (to me anyway) for his impish, toughest-kid-in-the-playground looks, has never quite delivered on the road. Always a pleasure to watch in the field and then flying in the early-season Classics.

I don't get it, if all the Frenchies swap French teams, they still wont have enouhg points to be safe for the World Tour.

Plus, I seriously thought Chainel was already at AG2R!

Some more French riders who maybe set to move:
