Horner rode a great race, coming back from a serious head injury and subsequent complications, out of racing for 8 months and taking second against an outstanding field in a big race. All the top three rode the TT slowly compared to Cancellera. What do you expect after the top three hamm :winered up the climbs for a week?
Why? It was a good time trial bY Nibali but not special. (7th). I mean if he'd beaten Cancellara or finished close it would have been different. Horner and Kreuziger bombed today with both riders not even doing a top 40. Then the only logical conclusion is the strongest won.
But not because of beetroot juice.
I was joking, sorry I forgot to emphasize it with a smiley
But for some reason IMO Horner did not go as well as the last few days suggested he should've been able too. When i see Garzelli only lost 4 secs to Nibali and I reckon Horner can TT as well or not better than Garzelli. For example he only lost 3 secs to Velits in ToC last year over 15 miles whereas he lost 20 today over 6 miles.

Chris will bag the TT over those other 2 guys,GRR!!! I saw him at the Sea Otter and T-Mobile SF a few years ago. He is riding intranquilo, what a smart race he and his team have done. He'll win it by 2 big ones. Not that it effects tomarrows, all inspiring performance by Chris, but don't forget Chris is the #1 climber in the world.
props to Sagan. I didnt think he would ride for Nibbles ... but I am glad he proved me wrong.
I dont wish for a crash - but a puncture or a mechanice ... maybe he goes the wrong way or takes a couple of corners badly - anything like that from Horner would be nice ;D
Terrific job by Sagan, today, as devoted domestique par excellence. He's put Nibs in with a great shout of taking the overall, tomorrow. 6 seconds bonus may not sound much, but over 9kms, when their isn't much to choose between the protagonisti, could make all the difference. Granpa Horner will need a double shot of his beetroot juice expresso and his Pais Vasco form of last year, if he is to hold onto the top slot.
