Wowzers

Any idea how Westley Gough has been going? Can't expect him to be at the sharp end but seemed to be in good form in the tracks.

Been following some updates on Twitter and do not remember seeing his name mentioned

checked results and he is 46th, at 45 seconds (so same time as everyone from 9th)

Big crash on todays stage. Police motor bike with photographer crashed. No riders badly hurt but motorbike rider and photographer both taken to hospital. Sounds fairly bad, pretty much entire race came to a standstill.

Race now restarting with about 30km left

most of the motorbikes have now been removed from the race (implies it was the motorbikes fault). only Malaysian marshals (from the tour of langkawi ) are allowed to stay.

according to cycling IQ on twitter this was 3rd incident involving official bikes on the day, and was caused by the bike clipping an ISD rider while trying to pass the bunch.

Any idea how wide the road was? Crowding could be another plausible explanation.

Update on the motorbike incident from Kristian House from Rapha

apparently it clipped Kristian then hit ISD's Yuriy Agarkov

Kristian said the motorbike rider "was weaving in and out of riders on the climb, coming on the inside of us on corners"...

Genesys making the accident sound worse

Wow what a day. Hope we don't have too many more like that. Seeing a bunch ploughed into by a moto doing 100km/h was sickening

Summary of yesterdays strange stage from Cycling IQ who is giving great updates

http://cyclingiq.com/2012/04/27/2012-tour-de-korea-stage-5-geochang-gumi/

love the fact that the leaders brother (on another team) stopped to give him a wheel but he had to refuse as it is not allowed.

the leader was then knocked unconscious in the finish line crash but is hoping to continue

seems to have been a fairly broken up end to the race with the peloton splitting into 4 just before the end

a group of 34 broke away about 20kms from the finish with 2 riders getting away from that group about 5kms later

the two riders held off the remaining group with Park (KSPO) winning the stage and taking GC lead at same time

Jang from KTM was second on the stage and takes 3rd overall.

Group of 32 came in at 13 seconds with the rest of the bunch arriving 20 seconds later

ON overall still about 30 riders within 20 seconds of the lead

yeah it split just after his attack. did not get much info on terrain but when his group came back then the 34 riders went clear and then the main peloton split as well
