Fignon - In my day, doping methods were derisory and the riders´exploits were massive.
For the last 15 years or so  it has been the other way rond: there is a huge number of ways in which riders can dope, and any exploits are derisory.

Nice pic. Cav looks like he had a pole up his ass whereas Wiggo looks like he's tired from some strenuous activity. ;)

JSG, are there any images for stage info instead of videos? The connection's sh*tting bricks, like Cav in that image.

Is it a better course than last year?

So a TdF test for Sky with Wiggo and Cav both on the roster. Just throwing this out there but what happens if they can't work together on the same race roster?

DB I think has released the Wiggo is on some sort of dare I say it , Form of his life and a Podium is very real @ TDF or even the top step - hence why he came out with the people must choose statement.

ready between the lines and Cav´s comments that the team can do both - Cav has been told you get very limited help win 2 or so stages early then retire - your engines Pate and Bernie become Wiggo engines.

Pay back is the Olympics.

Yep that is how i see it from recent comments. think Cav wants green and olympics but deep down wants olympics more.

yeah - what they want is Green and Yellow at the Tour, and Gold in Olympic RR and TT ...

what they will get might be substantially different though  ::)

no stage maps yet. I went through my files from last year and they released the profiles and maps last year on the 10th of april. the previous year we got maps in march but profiles only about 2 days before the race.

Stage 2 something like this, might kick the sprinters out but not selective enough for GC.

Stage 1 will probably be the most selective. Stage 3 is an uphill sprint for time bonuses. Four has a reasonable climb but 30 or 40km out from the finish so no time gaps. Not actually too certain on 1 and 4, just a guess based on the video.

Crans Montana ITT is classy though.

There are no real sprinters stages, but Cav is down to ride it? Prologue is a bit too long for him methinks!

The prologue would be too much if it were anywhere more than 200 metres surely.

Poop hits Team Sky fan?

I think JSG's suggestion sounds about right.  After all, Yellow >>>>>>>> Green, and as Wiggins has a realistic shot at going for the podium, they would be foolish to pass it up

As for the race itself, stage 3 finale looks quite good and should generate some action

The climb @ 30km to go should knock most of them out, those who have survived are probably tough enough to get the better of the puncheurs at the finish.

So Stage 1 and 2 are more or less the same, not too many sprinters, but would still take a brave GC man to make something of it.

Stage 3 a sprint for bonus seconds.

Stage 4 is the queen, same stage as a couple of years ago? Decent climbs and a rapid descent, if they are brave we will have only a few coming to the line, but you can also end up with 10-20.

My question about the fourth stage, as usual a silly one, is could the finish not be closer to the foot of the descent? Not that it would change anything massively.

Yes, there's about 3km of unnecessary flat.

You could easily have an MTF too, by turning off at 1150m on the descent. climbing back up to 1500m.

Stage 1 could be a sprint from a fairly large peloton if raced conservatively.
