Liquigas  are alive it seems, didn't get to watch the race though.

Watch the highlight last 5 km you see everything
Fignon - In my day, doping methods were derisory and the riders´exploits were massive.
For the last 15 years or so  it has been the other way rond: there is a huge number of ways in which riders can dope, and any exploits are derisory.

Beautiful sprint by Cav. He doesn't always need a perfect train.

Oss will break through this year, I'm sure of it.

He underperformed last year, yet he still got 5th in Milano - Sanremo. He has always done something in the classics season.

If you've not seen it already team sky stage 4 errors...

On reflection it would have been fascinating to see if having made the bunch Cav could have made it to the finish with Boonen and Cancellara...

Cav has tweet wind blowing today - tailwind.

Official results

at the first Sprint point Farrar, Steegmans and Flecha, were chasing seconds, got 3,2,1 in that order, GC stayed the same.

We need to come up with a special prize to give whoever is the first to correctly predict a 27th place finisher

Dekker finished 17th. A lot higher than I ever thought he would in a flat, echelon race  :P

I know of a forum in which the mediocre performances of BMC riders are praised in a similar way.

Different case. This is about a guy who spent a quarter of his suspension time drinking, going out and adding weight.
And who spent the other 3/4 struggling to get anywhere near a decent pro level. It's no miracle Garmin/Vaughters waited so long to sign him, they had serious doubts about his competitiveness.

It would not be strange to me had he pulled out or not being able to compete well in the echelons or do something valuable for the team here. Certainly if you saw him struggle with Chipotle in 2011 already. So yes, a top 20 is a great result all things considered.
