Hope Justin Tiernan-Locke will be riding. Was a bit worried when he announced he would be riding the tour of Mercia that there actually was a Tour of Mercia. Thankfully there isn't.

Not according to zam's startlist unfortunately. Does anyone have more details of his family bereavement? Sounds a bit callous I know

Brian Smith justed tweeted a picture of JTL's UCI Europe Tour leader's jersey with the hastag #murcia so I guess he is going to ride...
I know he missed Boucles du Sud Ardèche due to the bereavement.

Euskaltel Euskadi for the Vuelta a Murcia
Samuel Sanchez
Mikel Nieve
Amets Txurruka
Iván Velasco
Miguel Mingeuz
Jorge Azanza
Victor Cabedo

Fignon - In my day, doping methods were derisory and the riders´exploits were massive.
For the last 15 years or so  it has been the other way rond: there is a huge number of ways in which riders can dope, and any exploits are derisory.

Remember when the PT leader got to wear one of those too! I can even remember the Giro one year presenting way down the order at the end of stage presentations.

Nice race! Too bad it's falling apart. Just 2 days left.

Still a very nice lineup. Should be good racing.

JTL bonked or his kryptonite is descending? Was dropped by Quintana and passed by Poels.

Dropped by Quintana with 1.5km of climbing to go. Caught by Poels at the top of the climb and 'dropped' (what's dropped, 2 seconds..not really dropped) in the descent by Poels

Too bad that Kelderman punctured in the descent. He was leading the group Gesink up the climb...so wasn't doing too bad

JTL just beaten in the sprint really by Poels.  Unless he can get away on the climbs people are always going to sit in as they'll have team mates behind.  The TT could be really exciting, im gonna tip Pardilla to take 3rd place off JTL, Quintana and Poels to maintain their places and Oldcastle in 5th (I dont underrate Sanchez's TT, just not this early in the year)

No need to get touchy, there was limited reports last night when trying to follow it, all I (or anyone) could gather from twitter was that JTL was with Nairo and then between the climb and the finish ended up 3rd.

Dont think Dekker was being protective of JTL, as he has been baiting mercilessly about him on CN.

8. Kirill Sveshnikov (Lokosphonx) a 16
9. Evgeny Kovalev (RusVelo) a 16
10. Stef Clement (Rabobank) a 17

JTL 14.08
Poels 14.13
Quintana 14.18

Gesink makes time up in the TT but lost too much on the climb. Strange days.
