The Aspen Snowmass Pro Challenge will return for a second year this August with a new title sponsor and a new name but with dates that will once again have the women sharing Colorado's roads with the men's USA Pro Cycling Challenge
The newly renamed Blue Ribbon Alpine Challenge will run Aug. 20-22, with the final downtown criterium taking place just before the pro men arrive in Aspen for the USA Pro Cycling Challenge stage 4 finish.

The 2012 race brings new challenges to the world's top professional / elite women cyclists.
Aspen, a cycling mecca in the Rocky Mountains, is proudly hosting the only professional cycling event for women during the much-hyped, all-male USA Pro Cycling Challenge which rolls through Aspen on August 22nd and 23rd, 2012. Not content to just watch the race from the sidelines, two-time national champion and Aspen resident Jessica Phillips decided to create an event just for the ladies.
Top riders from around the world, including Phillips, will participate in front of crowds of up to 50,000 people, and proceeds from the race will be used to support young women’s athletic programs in the Aspen/Snowmass area.
2012 Stages:
8/20: Stage 1- Prologue Time Trial. 9 mile uphill race to the beautiful Maroon Bells.
8/21: Stage 2 - 35 mile circuit race around scenic Snowmass. Last year Kristin Armstrong (Olympic Gold Medalist) won this stage from a two-woman breakaway.
8/22: Stage 3 - Fast and technical criterium in front of the thousands of fans lined up to see the finish of the men’s race in downtown Aspen.
