While out on the road yesterday, I'm pretty sure I passed BMC's Yannick Eijssen.

I didn't pass him, of course, he was riding in the opposite direction much faster than I.  ;D

Astonishing 36 km, avg spd 18km/h, easy ride&chat with marathon and 1500m future national record holder in swimming. Nice young guy, 22 yrs old, he missed London coz shoulder...but he is living for Rio 10km race. Jesus, 7hrs in swimming pool&gym every day since 6am, 15km is easy day, and 24 km normal day...Jesus Christ. He just use cycling as relaxation...
Off course we almost have been hit twice by Honda SUV, and BMW 555...Jesus!

I choose to ride on rain with road bike coz I could not wait to stop, anyway lats 15 min was freezing, but I did one hour-low stress-high cadence-LA way of being best rider :fp

And most crucial thing is that other potential concurrent riders did not ride today :win :win

I rode Colnago C59, 150 Italia last weekend, what should I say, bike as any bike ;D

I know that ride would not end well :(, first chain suck, then two flats, friend was beaten by wasp, then almost crash at 45km/h...
...and then Tony crash so hard at 40km that I was so flipping in pain 10 minutes...and it getting much worse...nothing broken but lot...lot...lot of cuts...big one ;D
Group riding depends on hand signals and concentration...hand signal was not there so I bumped into small but deep hole, knock out buddy on my left...and that was it...
Broken chorus right ergo lever :(...sh*t, sh*t... 8)

Getting impatient to be back on the bike, I went to Van Eyck Sport in Aalst for some winter gear early this afternoon.

Mrs L'arri did the same and we went to the counter to pay, each of us with quite a big basket full of goodies.

I'd earlier noticed a guy who looked a bit prematurely old, from too much tanning and dieting. Came into the store when I was trying on some shoes and he looked around a bit. He was with a super skinny, tall woman, presumably his wife or girlfriend. She was sort of high maintenance, but a bit tired looking.

You see a lot of guys in club jerseys there but this guy was wearing a full Vacansoleil-DCM tracksuit. He was pretty small and kind of pinch-faced.

So Mrs L'arri puts all these bits through and she paid in part with eco-chèques which come in small denominations, so it took ages and ages and ages. The little fellow is after me in the queue and all he has is a fistful of energy gels. I decide not to subject him to the same thing over again with my full basket and eco-chèques. So I invite him to go before me. Courteous as can be. And he doesn't even look at me, he just goes right ahead with his tired looking woman and pays. No word of thanks or goodbye to staff.

I will not be cheering for Sergey Lagutin tomorrow. :fp

Yes probably...what he expected? Maybe to sign some gear which Larry is buying like madman ;D

Hej Larry, you know we are poor country...and people...and EU would kill us next year...so if you have some spare (not too old ;D) helmet (I prefer Giro), 2 pairs of tires with tubes (of course Vittoria only) and Look pedals (those carbon ones)...will give you my contact... 8) ;D

The EU won't kill you, Tone, but unless Croatia can become another Slovenia the EU will squeeze you dry within a decade: prices will explode and you will suffer a brain drain as most of your qualified people leave for bigger money and safer jobs elsewhere. The Germans have been repaving Croatian roads for years and now they want some returns on their investment!  They already bought up all the nice seaside properties from Dubrovnik to Split. UNESCO had to stop them before they took Diocletian's Palace. ;D

Seriously though, despite the moaning I did this week, I bought another pair of Gaerne shoes. Two pairs of tights, a warm jacket, gloves, overshoes and warm headband. Gets cold up here, you know. Lagutin must feel like it's home. ;)

I got 45s this time, instead of 44. I'm going to use them for winter, so I need a little toe wiggle space. And they fit a lot better, even if the heel support is very weak. What it is, Tone, I never told you, is that my feet are different sizes. In an ideal world, I would wear 45 on the left and 44 on the right.  :-[
