Decided to move here from CN as well, and become a bit more active in the process. Lurked there, posted some stuff at times, but never really sticked to it.

To introduce myself: I'm a beginning cyclist myself, bought my first bike a few weeks ago after having watched races for a number of years now. As my name suggests though, I'm not quite the fastest guy around just yet :P I support many different riders from various teams, but I do tend to be a fan of Liquigas in particular, especially Nibali.

Hoping this forum will continue to grow, since I already like it much better than the CN one :)

Well...what a pleasant surprise! So this is why I was hearing an echo in that other site.
Some nice changes: I see Old is now Newborn, Ram has added some syllables, Boomcie finally became a lord,  Krabkakes33 could only be mi amigo, and almost everyone else has a fresh new avatar. Mine is a NorCal balance to Scott SoCal's.
I ride a lot and am lucky to live in a place where year-round cycling is possible. I guess you could say that cycling has become my obsession/passion.
It's nice to see so many of the old CNers here...a clean, well-organized, friendly site. Thanks, Newborn, for the heads-up.
Sooo, I guess I start in Velorooms as a Couch potato...hmmmm.

    Hi,

Im a foreigner living in a foreign land thinking about running naked through the forests on a sunday in order to become just a little bit more foreign.
I also enjoy watching bike racing for which i can thank my smaller more intelligent but luckily uglier brother for (hope he is reading this).

    Foreign person over and out.

P.S. Im feeling even more foreign now i have moved too a forum that is quite foreign to CN.

bad amateur racer for a few years until we had kids
Phil Anderson's exploits introduced me to bike racing. usenet and cyclingnews introduced me to races other than the tour

Great plan, Straßen! But perhaps you should start with a Borat thong through the neighborhood and gradually progress to the naked forest run.

    Hi I'm John.

Live in Melbourne Australia. Started riding for transportation. Watched Le Tour with La Vie Clair's Greg and Badger, cheered for Skippy.

Took up triathlons, participated in Ironmans, raced (???) local D Grade RR.

Now ride mainly for fun and fitness, love (???) hills (but ride them slowly).

While now 53, still act like a teenager (and appear mid 40s) and a kid at heart.

Currently searching for a fulfilling enjoyable vocation.

    Cheers All.

ciao js (dual VR cn citizen)

Sure, I follow a sport which I can't watch on the telly almost all season and motor racing is more than a bit popular around my neck of the woods.

    ...most of us...

Clean break for me.  I really dig the new place.  I renounced my citizenship there, so after my ban is up, I am gone.  I think the posts will still be there, but the will be listed under "guest"  Good luck to all the people there.  I think the features here are going to move a lot of people though once they see what this place is and can do.  Great forum software (I think I've mentioned it several times, but it is worth repeating.)

The one good thing I like is that the filter isn't stuck in 1927 and where for example you try talking about Pakistan and the first four letters are censored.
