Hello all - finally got my sign-up figured out (thanks for the help Dim).

I've been "Juls" on most forums, dating back to the old cyclingforums, but am VeloGirl on CN. Just stopping by to say Hello.

As a programmer, I know this is a lot of effort Dim - so thanks for everything.  I'm going to go look around now..

  • Despite the self-serving data benders and associated propaganda to the contrary, I am led to believe that there are pockets of organised, highly sophisticated dopers, even within 'new age' cycling teams. Personally, I don't accept that the 'dark era' has ended, it has just morphed into a new guise.

You know, I hated oatmeal as a kid, so once I was able to choose what I have for breakfast I completely avoided it for years and years, until fairly recently I just had some. And what do you know? I enjoyed it. And now I try to have some with my breakfast every day.  ;D

    Morning all,

Having had the chance to chat to a few people during yesterday's Clasica San Sebastian, I thought I would come and introduce myself properly. I'm CJ, I'm 25, I'm a scientist and I'm from London. Over the last 12 months or so I have found myself getting sucked further and further into the murky world of pro-cycling (disclaimer: not necessarily that murky), to the extent that I have subscribed to Eurosport to be able to get their coverage wherever I am and stood in the torrential rain for an hour during the Olympic women's RR. My girlfriend was less than amused...

I strongly and (unusually for me) patriotically support the British contingent in the peloton, so this year's TdF was particularly pleasing for me. Given my girlfriend's origin (clue: today's tomorrow's racing goes right through her hometown... she didn't consider this an excuse for a holiday...), I have a soft spot for a number of other riders. I am also an avid Pro Cycling Manager player, but I will save my discourses on my gameplay for the PCMDaily forum, unless anyone here wants to get me started!

I'm looking forward to watching the Vuelta with you all - something to keep me going through long days of not-hugely-exciting work! Allez Froomey!

    CJ.

Edit: I have just been caught out on my ability to read a calendar...

Btw you can also post some PCM stuff in the thread we have which has been dormant for a while, but you are welcome to awaken it from its slumber, as there are quite a lot of PCM players around these parts,

    Thanks everyone.

Hitch -  I found VR while looking for transfer rumours. I stuck around because it was the only forum site I found that wasn't blocked by my work's network filter. Of course, I'm glad I did now  8).

Dim - I am on Twitter... a lot. And I post about cycling... quite a lot. Enough that my friend gets all the cycling news he needs from me. Whether we have been in contact, I don't know. I'll DM you my screenname and we can be Twits together.

And Froome - I might just do that. Now that I've upgraded to PCM12 and got my head around the editor, I'm just kicking off a season with a custom team. It would be good to trade tips and stories with other players.

    See you all around  :wave
