  • Despite the self-serving data benders and associated propaganda to the contrary, I am led to believe that there are pockets of organised, highly sophisticated dopers, even within 'new age' cycling teams. Personally, I don't accept that the 'dark era' has ended, it has just morphed into a new guise.

    Hello,

I am new here, hence the post... but you figured that I guess.

I live in the UK and have a hobby of collecting 'retro' bikes, or what some might describe as 'old tat'.

I have around 20 bikes, of which only 2 are what you might refer to as post yr 2000. I don't expect to be a prolific poster, however, certain subjects interest me - track, cx, mtb, road and pro cycling.

    So, as above, hello.

    :)

Good to see you here, seems we have a lot new members from the UK coming in atm.. :win
Also I may have one or two bikes to add to your collection if you ever feel the need to expand  :P

And nice to see that you are interested in all those aspects of cycling.. I dont think you could find another forum which has such extensive coverage on all those areas.. (Ok you probably could, but not for long  :P)

Oops, neglected to introduce myself before I started posting...  :fp anyway, better late than never. Ex-pro, ex-journo, ex-winemaker... just getting back on my bike for the first time since the 2000 season. Not enjoying the European winter! Had forgotten how bloody cold it gets!
Velorooms is a great forum; some very knowledgeable posters, but importantly fun and lighthearted; which is more than can be said of some 'inferior forums'!

    See you around... esa.

    I just turned 32.
I live in Canada, but I'm a Spaniard.
I speak, read, and write fluently in 3 languages: Spanish, Italian, English (not too shabby in Portuguese & French).

I've been thru alot in my life...

I ride my bike(s) mostly for keeping in shape and for fun.
In 2008 I placed 4th overall in the novice category at the Toronto Criterium, amongst riders who had much more experience & training
than I ever had. This was the only race I ever participated in.
