« on: August 27, 2013, 11:19 »
Grand-Prix de Plouay Ouest-France (now known as GP Ouest-France) is an elite cycle race held annually in late summer around a circuit based on the small Breton village of Plouay since 1931. Originally named Grand-Prix de Plouay, it has been part of the UCI ProTour since the competition's inception in 2005, and in 2009 became one of the events in which points can be won towards the UCI World Ranking. Since 1989, the race has been known as GP Ouest-France.

uci press  - North-east France is one of the cornerstones of French cycling and so rightly hosts a UCI ProTour race every year.

The small Breton town of Plouay has hosted a race since 1931 and even the UCI World Road Championships were held there in 2000. The event has grown to three days of cycling with a cyclosportive ride on the Friday, an Elite Men’s race and Women’s UCI World Cup race on the Saturday, before the grande finale, the UCI ProTour GP Ouest France – Plouay, on Sunday August .

Of course, if this turns out someday to be the industry standard integrated handlebar-computer-braking solution then I'll eat my kevlar-reinforced aerodynamic hat.
