Will be hard as Madrid are flying with few injuries but not impossible.

Athletic Bilbao just gave Schalke a shock :o

It was a great game to watch.

Wowzers, pretty decent finish for Athletic.

AZ beat Valencia and Metalist still in their match. What the fark is going on?

    AZ using Jose Ibarguren  ;D

Strange as Spanish football is on a 'high' right now and Valencia are 3rd in La Liga.

    A Madrid won their fixture.

Good one and Bilbao took more of their chances to Schalke's. But Schalke were let down badly by their 3rd choice goal keeper who has not played first team football in 2 years

Aye, they've been unlucky with their goalkeepers in recent weeks. Faehrmann (however it is spelt), is out for a few months after he tore some ligaments and the backup gk injured his shoulder out for a few weeks too.

Should be all about third spot in the Bundesliga now.

Did Schalke finish 14th last year? How did they make the europa league, through a German cup competition?

Is it true they dont want Raul for next year?

They do want to keep Raul, BUT....they need to pay Huntelaar even more big bucks to keep him, so they've told Raul that he can stay another year, but with a salary cut from 7m euros to 4m. ::)

I love watching A. Bilbao play and really enjoyed their spanking of Schalke. I like Athletic to win this EL.

They won the DFB Pokal. Magath was a bit clueless at Schalke, shouldn't have been given full control of the transfers.

They are in deep sh*te financially, surprising for a German club, and they could well lose a player or two. I think I remember that they were desperate to get rid of Huntelaar in January last year, couldn't sell him though, now they want to hold him desperately. Bayern are keeping tabs on him apparently.

A Bilbao play as a team and with real passion. I didn't enjoy watching them walk all over Man U, but they did it quite easily and did playing great football.

I reckon it will be a Spanish final.

Financial trouble? Wow! Makes sense to keep Huntelaar, the younger player. Raul is 36/37.

If Huntelaar wants to get a bg move the match in Bilbao will be a good place to up his value  ;)

He has 40 goals this season, shown his worth quite enough for potential suitors.

You're certainly not the only one with a dislike for the big, fat, gum-chewing northern bastard.  ;) We can't argue with where we are, except that with the 'strikers' at our disposal we should have run away with this league. Even worse, we're playing sh!te footy and he keeps playing one up front while claiming that it's really 4-3-3.

People in Holland (and most informed fans) know what 4-3-3 should look like, and that's not what we've been playing. He seems to think that the fans are mugs. >:(

I'll forgive him if we go straight up, but unless a lot of changes are made, we'll come straight down again with this lot.

Dreadful news about Petrov. :( One can only hope that 'acute' is not as bad as it sounds, and wish him strength and courage.

On a very different note, did anyone happen to see any of the Dortmund-Stuttgart game? Try and find highlights (you can youtube search just as well as I can  ;) ) - it was one of those rare, totally mad games.

I was channel hopping and tuned in at 77 mins, shortly after Stuttgart scored their first to make it 2-1 - within the next 10 mins the scores went 2-2, 2-3, 3-3, 4-3, then five minutes without a goal till Stuttgart made it 4-4 in the 92nd of 93 mins. Absolutely brilliant to watch!  :win  :D

Utterly bizar. We were totally on top in the first half. Their first ball into our box was around the 20th min from a free kick. We should have been at least 2-0 up by the time they scored two in three mins just before halftime. That sucked the life out of us.

We think right, second half, must-win game, bring on another striker and get useless Taylor off. What does the fat one do? Brings on Collins, a defender, and has Tomkins, a defender, play DM. Incredible. Then we gave away a stupid penalty, after which we knew it was over and you could feel that the crowd knew it too. The only plus from this dreadful afternoon is the spanking that Saints got, though that's not much of a consolation. :(

thought saints would struggle but 3-0. especially when goal difference is going to be important. Saints missed a penalty in first half which could have changed things (was 0-0 at the time)

looking at remaining fixtures really do think any one of the teams could take it from here. Saints still have games against reading, middlesborough and a local derby against pompy
