The 50th Bundesliga season is over.
Bayern runaway champions, head and shoulders above Dortmund and head, shoulders and torso above everybody else.
Fürth & Düsseldorf go down, Hoffenheim is in the relegation vs. Kaiserslautern.

And my team Freiburg qualifies for the Europa League. :)
Would have been awesome to beat Schalke today and reach the Champions League play-offs (not so much for the chance to qualify - I would have little illusion about that - but for the guaranteed Europa League group stage), but nevertheless it's the best season of the team since 1995 (maybe even better, also reaching the cup semi-final) and a great achievement.
When current coach Christian Streich took over one and a half years ago, the team was dead last and looked certain to be relegated. Since then, he has reached 1.5 points per match, with a team consisting mostly of players from the own academy (that he has been instrumental in building up).
I hope that the club finds good replacements for the players leaving (Kruse, Caligiuri, Flum, Rosenthal - basically the entire midfield) and that the extra matches in Europe don't become too much of a burden - the last time we played in Europe we also got relegated.

Going to be an interesting premiership next year.

Liverpool doing their business early and some promising signings rumoured.
Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet looks certain for around £10m

Defender Kolo Tore already in on a free
Defender Tiago Ilori looks likely for around £4m

Forward Iago Aspas  coming in from Celta Viga is pretty much done for around £8m
Forward Luis Alberto already made an offer, Sevilla holding out for around £10m

Midfield - henrikh mkhitaryan is allegedly having a medical this week but I cant see him joining Liverpool, wants to live in London and wants too much money.  Its possible. but £20m plus.

    Outs:
Carroll £19m (£15m plus 2m already paid for the loan, and 2m in bonus's)
    Suarez?? £40m
    REina £10m

If Liverpool pick up four or five of those six targets, couple with Coutinho who has been stunning, and Sturridge, thats a fairly strong team and with no European football to distract them they must surely be targetting top 4.

Man UTd - entire coaching squad gone, going to be interesting to see how they get on
Man City - dismal last year can only improve
    Arsenal - Lol
Chelsea - Will be the big title thread with Jose back
    Spurs - Meh..

I don't follow that closely, but I am a Red nevertheless.

Why is Reina going? Decision by the management to replace him with Mignolet (who I've never heard of)?
Suarez - Good riddance, happy to see his back.

Mkhitaryan - He's a good player, but living in London... I don't think that would be good for the team.

Reina is only possible. the plan was Barca, but doesnt look like that will happen this year. Mignolet is a Belgian at Sunderland. Damn good little keeper. Probably the reason they stayed up last year.

Mkhitaryan - I just cant see, 20m release clause we can trigger, but hes made it clear he wants to go to london or italy where he thinks he can make money. Allegedly hes only on about 20k a week at the moment and wants a big bucks deal

Not the kind of player Liverpool should go for then. He'd be better off at Milan, Inter, Juve or Chelsea.

    Noooooooooo,
FFS, I am starting to dislike the Arse as much as I dislike Chealsea,
Boxing day Arsenal v West Ham postponed, reason a tube drivers strike, absolute pathetic reason to not have a match.
    Fulham v Southampton on
    QPR WBA on..
Wenger must think London comes to a standstill because of a tube strike, what a load of Betty Swallocks.
Now poor Arch has to do the family thing two days running instead of going out with mates on Boxing Day, another day of being nice and board games. It aint right its a traditional sport day and should stay so.
Hope Arsenal get Newcastle away next year on Boxing Day, that would show em to respect tradition.

Anyway of to see the Hammers play Everton later, so better make the most of it.

    COYI COYI
    Rant over, calm down Arch..

Where you going Boxing Day this year Mr Wenger, go on have guess
Thats right, now try getting out of that you french twa........

yeah all started when they released a special edition kit 3 years ago which was really cool and looked a bit like peru.

then the next year went to almost no stripes and this year no stripes at all. I am not happy, will just stick to my 2001 le god shirt

Forgive me for not recognizing every British football team by its badge, but what team is that?

Nice jerseys, maroon & light blue looks good. It's a bit sad that the colour combination is almost exclusively limited to the UK.

Allow me to cast sincere doubt on that, BYOP. :P
I'm not omniscient about the inner workings of English football, but Spurs wearing maroon & blue (West Ham colours) would be like Dortmund playing in blue, or 1860 München playing in red.

I would say Man United are still the most likely team to win the PL. No idea about Europe, that's like impossible to predict until the competition gets to the semi finals, never mind pre-season.

PL will be battled out between Chelski, Citeh and ManU.

Will be interesting to see how Moyes does.

Final CL place to be between Spurs and Arsenal.

    A suprise team, hopefully Newcastle.

despite rumours that WHU will sign every striker in the world to partner Carrol, it looks very like maiga will lead the line when the season starts (carrol injured, who'd have though it).

on a more positive note rat is an experienced player who might slot in, and ravel morrison is a huge talent, i just hope he's not in prison by christmas (repeat off field problems offender)

PL: Chelsea and Man City have the best players on paper, and both have brilliant new coaches. On paper, one of them should win. Man United's challenge will depend on whether they add more players; with last years' squad they wouldn't make it. If they add a midfielder to partner Carrick - not Fellaini - they could just pull it off again. But there is a lot of instability, with a new manager and the Rooney thing. Spurs will be fine, even if they sell Bale. With Paulinho and Soldado they have two great new additions to their team, which was already quite solid. Arsenal make the obvious top 5 complete. Behind them the two teams from Liverpool will be challenged by Swansea, who I think could improve even further after two already pretty great years. Bony is a great player; those who have never watched him play in the Dutch league will be in for a surprise.

For the top 5, I'll go with this:
    1. Man City
    2. Chelsea
    3. Man Utd
    4. Spurs
    5. Arsenal

For the CL, I get the feeling it may just be Madrid who will win it. I can't see Bayern repeating, and don't really believe in Barcelona either for this year.

And the all-important Eredivisie: PSV, wow.. What a change they've made, from the least likeable team in recent memory to one that is a lot of fun for all the good reasons. Feyenoord hasn't lost any major players yet and could continue to grow, while Ajax are always up there, but PSV should be able to win this year with the team they've got. As for Vitesse, another 4th place should be well within reach, but more than that seems unlikely.
