Standings
Other than Del, all of those scoring over 1000 in this update were already in the top six: even so, the table shows plenty of change and this seems a particularly open edition.  First and fourth swap positions, due to JonE's huge margin over everyone else.

Year 2, Month 9 30 August to 3rd (and some races at least from 4th) October

We have had GT winners, but I don't think we have had a monument winner as a rider during his relevance to this race yet, but we came very close to it last week.

MEEUS Jordi      256      1 (Joelsim)   2nd in Eurometropole and GP Denain and Vuelta stage and 3rd in Gooikse Pijl
    GIRMAY HAILU Biniam      238      6   Besancon Doubs win/Tour du Doubs 2nd/World Champs U23 2nd/Adelie de Vitre 5th
    VERMEERSCH Florian      205      2 (Otoxiep and Squire)   Paris-Roubaix 2nd
BISSEGGER Stefan      192      19   Benelux stage win/4th in Euro and 7th in World ITT and 4th in World TTT
COVI Alessandro      175      4   3rd in Giro di Sicilia and 2nd in Coppa Bernocchi
WILLIAMS Stephen      160      2 (Blues itB and Skidmark)   Cro Race GC win and stage pts
PIDCOCK Thomas      159      21   6th in Worlds RR
    HONORE Mikkel Frølich      144      5
LOPEZ PEREZ Juan Pedro      104      9

    THIJSSEN Gerben      97      3
    RENARD Alexis      92      2
    ARENSMAN Thymen      80      13

It was a tie this month in the 2021-21 edition, and only one point in it here.

    Koronin      31      32      -1

Year 3 is when all will be decided: the podium members look fairly secure, but what order will they be in?

This cohort don't seem to be quite of the level of those who have starred in the game in some recent editions, but now that they are in year 3 we should expect to see some big results somewhere.  But by whom?

At the time when this cohort ought to be beginning to make themselves known among the top levels in the sport, the top 14 riders in this update are all men who were eligible for the 2021-1 edition (except Aniolkowski, who only missed that edition by 1 point).

    Year 3 Month 3  28 February to 3 April

Previous editions have had winners of the Tour and Giro, but none of the biggest one day races.  Evenepoel's San Sebastian was the biggest until Girmay took Gent-Wevelgem.
But frankly, apart from the teams with Girmay, it was a rather unimpressive month all round.

    Year 3: Month 4  April 4th to May 1st

It would have to be said that this cohort did not make a huge impression on the Spring Classics, or any of the other April races.  The scores for this group are on the whole lower than in the two 'younger' games that I have just posted.

Name Pts this month Teams source
GALL Felix      118      1   12th Itzulia GC and 6th in Alps
    PIDCOCK Thomas      97      21   5th in Brabantse Pijl & 11th in Amstel
    RUBIO REYES Einer Augusto      96      20   10th Romandie & 13th Alps
    ARENSMAN Thymen      92      13   3rd in Alps
    VANHOUCKE Harm      90      1   5th in Turkey
CEPEDA ORTIZ Jefferson Alexander      85      11
    BOUCHARD Geoffrey      79      3
    WIRTGEN Luc      69      1
    MEEUS Jordi      56      1
    RENARD Alexis      55      2
    RODRIGUEZ CANO Carlos      52      7
    QUINN Sean      52      1
LOPEZ PEREZ Juan Pedro      51      9
    BUITRAGO SANCHEZ Santiago      50      2
    BENNETT Sean      50      2

A score for this month of 507 wouldn't even have made the top 20 of the 2022-24 game: it wins here.  These riders really ought to be cracking the big time by now, but the scoring seems to be faltering.
Pidcock, Rubio and Arensman are all in the top 6 teams (and probably some others I haven't looked at): the extra riders that made a difference this month are shown here.

    Year 3 Month 5 2-29 May

As last month, the two games that started after this one have higher scores than here.  I guess this edition lacks the one or two stars who breakthrough in the third year of the game and make that third year the big scorer.

Some headline makers during the Giro feature here though:
    LOPEZ PEREZ Juan Pedro      356      9   Pink jerseys/stage 2nd/GC 10th in Giro
BUITRAGO SANCHEZ Santiago      235      2   stage win and second with GC 12th in Giro
THIJSSEN Gerben      172      3   stages in Dunkerque/2nd in Veenendaal/3rd in Marcel Kint
ARENSMAN Thymen      166      13   stage 2nd twice and GC 18th in Giro
GIRMAY HAILU Biniam      160      6   Win/2nd/4 more top fives in half the Giro
LEEMREIZE Gijs      127      1   two stage podiums and top 30 GC in Giro
    VERMEERSCH Florian      124      2   Antwerp win/Morbihan 9th
COVI Alessandro      116      4   Stage win with third in KoM and finishing Giro
SOBRERO Matteo      100      1   Stage win & 4th and finishing Giro

The riders we didn't pick, but could have, continue to wipe the floor with us in this edition far beyond the stage at which many of us have overtaken the Collective Ignorance team in any previous edition.

    Standings
The scoring may not be impressive, but at least it is close.  Yet another change in the lead, and still very difficult to see who might prevail.

I guess it's just a typo, but my team has Juanpe and not Buitrago.

    Anyway, thanks for the updates!
As usual I start slow the first years of the game and I'm progressing in the last months, I guess I tend to bet in long term talents. Particulary happy with my last months here, started the last year 11th and I'm currently 4th :D

That'll be correct in the spreadsheet and therefore in your scores: this was just an error in the narrative.

    Year 3 Month 6 30 May to 3 July

Not for the first time, the cohort a year behind these guys have scored far better.  And participation in the Tour de France is going to have far less impact here than it has on year three of previous iterations of the game.
    RODRIGUEZ CANO Carlos      210      7   Nat RR win/Occitanie 2nd
MEEUS Jordi      117      1   2nd in Dauphine stage and in Nat RR
VAN POUCKE Aaron      110      1   3rd in ZLM tour
WEEMAES Sasha      101      4   4th in both Elfstedenronde and Nat RR
    WILLIAMS Stephen      95      2
    RIES Michel      78      4
    ZIMMERMANN Georg      72      13
    JORGENSON Matteo      72      5
    SIMMONS Quinn      70      26

The game's leader tops the table for this month, by no small margin, but just look at how much better the team that none of us selected is than any real team.

    Year 3, Month 7 (and a bit of 8) 4th July to 7th August
Yes, it's more than a week since the other editions were updated, and this data is now more than a week old (so excludes Tour de l'Ain, Portugal, Arctic, Polynormande inter alia), but here it is, off my to do list before La Vuelta.

In previous editions this Y3 M7 update has seen multiple Tour stage wins and high, even winning, GC places.  Not so much this time around.

ARENSMAN Thymen      200      13   Stage win and GC 2nd in Poland
PIDCOCK Thomas      194      21   Stage win and 17th GC in TdF
ALEOTTI Giovanni      175      10   2 stage wins and GC win in Sibiu
RODRIGUEZ CANO Carlos      172      7   5th in San Seb and 4th in Burgos
JORGENSON Matteo      132      5   3 top 5s and 21st overall in Tour de France
    SOBRERO Matteo      125      1   4th in Poland
    VANHOUCKE Harm      124      1   2nd in Sibiu/12th in Wallonie
    PICCOLO Andrea      122      2   6th in Sibiu/7th Villafranca/2nd Getxo
    BUITRAGO SANCHEZ Santiago      91      2
    WRIGHT Fred      77      2
    VAN WILDER Ilan      73      25
    LEEMREIZE Gijs      53      1

    This period:

          CollectiveWisdom      8846

As a measure of how poorly most of us are doing here, SafeBet's score over 19 months in the round that started in 2021 would hold 4th place in this game which has points accumulated over 31 months.

Maybe this bunch of riders, or those who selected them, can find redemption in the Vuelta(Rodgiguez, van Wilder, Arensman seem most likely to do something, there are a few other selected names on the startlist).  Next update probably a week after that.

    Thanks for the update mate!

I think this endgame is going to be quite interesting as we have rather different teams. Plenty of chances still remain!

In fact, half or our team is different.
Common riders: Rodriguez, Pidcock, Lopez, Simmons, Van Wilder, Bagioli, Rutsch, Van Moer & Eekhoff.
My team: Arensman, Vansevenant, Piccolo, Bissegger, Tiberi, Rubio, Brenner, Donovan & Ardila.
Jon's team: Sobrero, Aleotti, Zimmermann, Oldani, Honore, Ries, Nieuwenhuis, Konychev & Garrison.

Arensman doing a good GC at la Vuelta could be a key step in the way to recover those 500 points.

    Thanks for the update mate!

In the last month, Jon's differentials did 192 poins and my differentials did 415. Gap drops from 530 to 307 points.
And I'm still waiting the GC points of Arensman in la Vuelta. So good so far!

    Year 3, month 8-9a 8 Aug - 11 Sept
Yet again, this cohort have been outperformed by those thought too young to be of any benefit in this game.  Juan Ayuso had just turned 17 when we were putting our teams together for this, and De Lie was also still too young to buy drinks in a pub, but if anyone had heard of them and had the foresight, they would be running away with this by now.

Going into the last lap, JonE didn't have a great month, but Honore, Zimmermann and Oldani limit the losses that he suffers to Cordi.  The gap is approximately halved, so another session with a similar gaps between those teams would make it very close.

It's hard to imagine point scoring after 16th October, so there will be an update soon after that, with a final confirmation at the end of the year.  But it is almost time to start your shortlists for 2023-25, and to try to make the  Collective Ignorance team of that edition less of an indictment upon us all than it has been here.

All the names and numbers, lest you want to conduct your own inquiry into how it has gone right/wrong for you.

As here we're 2 spaniards fighting for the win, we're following closely the last races of the season in our forum  :D

    https://forodeciclismo.mforos.com/30983/13018966-emerging-riders/

Right now after itt wordls, I'm only 81 points behind Jon, so there's a fight.

    .

Maybe it sound like too mucho self-praise, but I'm amaze by the solid run I'm having this last year of the game. In january I was 11th overall and thought I was completely out of contention. But last 7 uptdates have been 2º-7º-1º-3º-3º-1º-2º monthly to be now touching the back wheel of Jon.

I have enough Spanish to follow the conversation there, even if I am a bit too rusty to join in.  But I see that the final update won't be news to the principals, who are discussing every twist and turn.  In apparently good humour.  I also see in a link from there the background to Team EP.

Are you in touch on that board with Comodoro (winner of the 4 seasons title), who I think is Spanish, but never seems to contribute on either board other than lists of names?

Don't really know what is the 4 seasons title, but I think Comodoro could be the cryptic 60956 in our forum. With such a name, I use to call him "numeral" haha
The rest of spaniards from Parlamento have the same nick here and there I think.

That rings a bell: I think I remember a set of numbers like that above a team on a submission, that could well have come from him.  But I always just run the teams under the name of the manager, and I don't retain the PMs for long.

The 4 seasons is the total accumulated in the Spring Classics and the 3 GTs CQ games: the velo-manager d'Or for the year.

Yes I think that's correct. And now is down to 75 after Agostoni. Italy classics will be decisive.

But I'm going to delay any celebrations by waiting until the next CQ update before I confirm that, as CQ stuck to their usual Monday schedule for releasing a downloadable update rather than waiting that little bit longer to make this week's the end of season.

But I have enjoyed eavesdropping on Parliamento this last few weeks.

Year 3, Month 9b-10 12 Sept to 23 October (except last pro race was 17th)

And because that last pro race has now finished, that should be it for this edition of the game (unless there are some selections who have not held a place in the pro-ranks and are in .2 races outside Europe, but any should be fairly insignificant).

And an eventful last month and a bit it has been, as those who have dipped into the thread will know, especially if they have taken the detour to Parlamiento Ciclismo, where we have seen a very civil Spanish war.

But, as ever, the first focus is on the riders, finishing the third season of their emergence thus:

Name Pts this session Teams source
    MEEUS Jordi      231      1(Joelsim)   Primus Classic win/Paris Bourges 5th
    PICCOLO Andrea      217      2 (Cordi & Rote Laterne)   Japan Cup 2nd/Lombardia 11th/Agostini 3rd

SOBRERO Matteo      105      1(Jon Ezeitza)   WC ITT 13th/WC TTT 2nd/Chrono des Nations 3rd

Those, plus the lesser scores that other riders achieved, benefitted our teams as follows:

    Presumed final standings
Jon Ezeitza moved into top position in August last year, when Cordi was 12th: Jon was temporarily displaced for one update, but thereafter had looked fairly secure, with a 530 point lead in early August this year.  Cordi, however, had been threatening with top score on two updates this year, 2nd place on two, and 3rd on a further two. And then topped the table again this time around.

Piccolo's second place meant that Cordi took the overall lead in the small hours of Sunday morning, but through Sobrero in Les Herbiers and Oldani in Veneto, Jon saw the end of the season as far as Europe is concerned in the lead.   But in Malaysia, Einer Rubio had come third on the queen stage the previous Thursday, and looked poised to retain that position on GC: he lost a couple of places on the Monday, although it was a modified route, but there was no repeat of that loss in the final stage of the professional season, and it was those GC points that finally pushed Cordi to the top of the table.

          CollectiveIgnorance      16649

Not only the top two changing places: extraordinarily for so late in the game, none of the top 8 remain where they were little ore than a month ago.

So congratulations to Cordi for the win, and to Jon for making such a contest of it, and to SafeBet for the late grab of the final podium spot.

This has been a very strange edition, mainly because of the near elimination of the calendar for the first year, but also in part due to the lack of a huge scorer, while those following this cohort do seem to have some monster potential resulting in the humiliation of all teams by the list of eligible but unchosen riders.

I will at some time do an analysis of riders and scores to try to work out why the tables were so volatile (I suggested that the podium looked settled at the end of year 2, but one of the three who looked set for said podium has now finished 10th) and the scores so low.

Until then, see if you can fathom it out here is the spreadsheet.

Congratulations Cordi and thanks Armchair for running the game.

Not my finest moment this edition - the last of my CT or lower only efforts, but things look a bit better in the next one.
