Rumours:
#unox Jonas Iversby Hvideberg —> #dsm
#unox Markus Hoelgaard —> #trek

 there are no comments from any if the involved parties at this point in time, too early for that.

    Italian team needs Italian star rider, Viviani hasn't been overly successful at Cofidis. Makes sense for both parties.

    Next step for #eolo is to find a top-notch lead-out man ... :P

    Going by their respective results over the past couple of seasons[1], I don't see a problem for Cofidis in allocating who gets what races. Nizzolo gets his choice of races and Coquard has the leftovers + SSFRs. Now maybe a change of scenery will result in a improvement for the Frenchman, but they can cross that bridge if it happens and as they say, it will be a nice problem to have.

    One does wonder though about Coquard's thinking. Surely now he won't get to ride the Tour. Wasn't that one of the reasons he turned down Deceuninck a few years back. Maybe he has seen the writing on the wall for B&B going forward? Who knows.
     1. Looking even further back, Coquard has never won at WT level

    Yes, that's my main concern - a French sprinter will always want to do the Tour. And Nizzolo is above him in the pecking order at the moment.

    Though, with a French team, you never know. Maybe they'll give Nizzolo Giro & Vuelta (and I think he could also do alright in some spring classics), and Coquard the Tour?

    Weakly founded rumours in Norwegian press that Aleksander Kristoff may be leaving #uae UAE and joining #unox Uno-x from 2022. Considering that #unox seem capable of raising half a world team for the same kind of money, I sort of doubt it - but if all the young classics riders (Last year Leknessund, this year Hoelgaard and Hvideberg leave #unox they may need a replacement, and an Kristoff´s attitude towards training and winning is considered valuable  for any team. Come 2023 (Uno-x in the world tour) these youngsters may come back?
    Kristoff can still win major races even though he seems every day a bit more yesterday´s man compared to the developing #unox Uno-x crowd.

    Wouldn't that be pretty much the opposite of their #development slogan? Sure, Kristoff would be an excellent mentor, but does he fit in the team as a rider?
    Of course, with the announcement of applying for a (men's) WT licence, the team set-up logically has to change a bit, and Kristoff as an elder statesman could fit in there - gradually moving into a DS role, perhaps?

    And Kristoff is (still) a big household name, something that isn't irrelevant if they seek a Tour wildcard for the 2022 Danish Grand Départ.
    Finally, if they do attract Kristoff, I expect they will also sign his wingman Bystrøm?

    Apparently Wanty has found some replacement already at least

    #lotto Gerben Thijssen
    #lotto Kobe Goossens
    --> #iwg Intermarché-Wanty Gobert

    Both seem like a fairly good fit - not really WT level maybe, but that's the case for half of the team anyway.

    .....but Hushovd retired several years ago. :P

    I consider this a provocation of the third degree  :angry

    SO Hushovd has a couple of TdF stages and no de Ronde vin. And a nice rainbow jersey.
    Kristoff has 2 monuments including de Ronde, and a few TdF stage wins as well.
    In the world championship he is so close to matching Thor that I almost consider it a draw, until Flanders this fall.  :D

    I think there are only 3 items left on Kristoff's personal to-do list: the rainbow jersey, Paris-Roubaix and then the RvV one more time. It could also be the RvV one more time, the RvV one more time and then the RvV one more time again as that is his race.

    Howver, back to the real world going-ons: Kristoff was injured at the *no national championship after finding that lone bottle released by some other rider with his front wheel. I don't think he is very injured and if the team wanted him to start TdF he would probably do it. The catch is they never told him he was off the team and they never told him why. That sounds very much like leaving #uae and sheik ben redikk for now.

    Next destination: pure speculation but #unox has been mentioned. However, to add more pure speculation, if Bennett leaves Quickstep..... and the RvV one more time. Quickstep has a tradition for taking in older riders with a strong track record and make them perform good for a year or two. Think Mørkøv and this year, Cavendish, previously, Gilbert, etc. They also appreciate the best classics riders, and they need more than one good sprinter.

    Other possible taker could be #israel Israel start up nation - they are desperately looking for another Froome, but more seriously they have the money to match him with for example Ackerman. With Kristoff for the leadout (?)

    All very nice speculation, but apparently his destination is #iwg:

    So his remaining to-do list is de Ronde, de Ronde, and de Ronde then. He is a true adopted Flandrien. Definetly a good match for the team that lacks someone in the hevyweight class.

    I wonder if the team can give him the support needed though, but all-in-all, it could have ended worse.

    Last year, they bought the WT licence too late to add much weight, but they'll improve on their squad for 2022. They have to if they want to keep that WT licence.

    In today's Ouest France, #bbhotels Jerome Pineau basically confirms Coquard & Pacher leaving at the end of the season. But "the team will continue to grow. Next year's team will in no way be worse than now. We will focus more on stage races. And not only with French riders - talent has no nationality. And of course, we'll sign a new sprinter as well."

    Bennett + Hodeg + Soler --------> #uae ?

    Not the best signings on paper. Certainly the form of the first two is not stellar.

    Leaving UAE could be De La Cruz. Movistar is rumoured. More grist to the mill that they and Acquadro have kissed and made up. I wonder if it was the agent who has been the instigator in this rapprochement. Astana's future is rocky, so rebuilding bridges with the biggest Spanish team would seem a necessity.
