#felbermayr Riccardo Zoidl --> #vorarlberg Team Vorarlberg

not the step up to pro level he hoped for, but it should result in a bit better calendar, I think. Could replace Guerin, if he really leaves for a higher level team - but I've read nothing since the first rumours.

    What was more of a surprise was him being a Deceuninck rider who didn't improve at his speciality (TT-ing in this case) and if anything got generally worse. There haven't been too many of them, at least not recently.

    Benoot ---------> ???

    Rumoured a few months ago that he wasn't happy. The team doesn't seem to be digging it's heels in as it is with Van Wilder. Maybe cause Tiesj hasn't been as public about it all.

    Intermarche were leaving a space open for a last potential signing it was reported the other day. Others will no doubt be interested too.

    A pleasant surprise with Kukrle moving up a level.

    That's three big shoes now(or six I should say) that Elkov will need to fill. Could the newly married Turek make a move there, or is he getting paid better at Felbermayr.

    I missed the Schlegel -> #cajarural move. That's a funny one :). Kukrle also deserves a shot on PT level. Gazprom has been pretty crap over the past couple of years, but they still get into the big races at least.

    Turek looks like an obvious candidate for Elkov indeed. Maybe #qhubeka Karel Vacek as well, if he struggles to find another team?! Also someone like Paluta could be very interesting, unless they plan to stay Czech only

     Ineos also announced a load of one-year contract extensions today: Thomas, Swift, Rivera, Narvaez, Castroviejo, Puccio and oddly, Wurf.

    That's a chunk of the team confirmed today, without a new game changer in sight.

    #mazowsze Pawel Bernas will leave Mazowsze at the end of the season

    https://twitter.com/MazowszeCycling/status/1453444034815537159

    Could be a rider of interest for Elkov as well (as they had a couple of Polish riders in the past), but a transfer to Voster or the new (German) Wibatech team is probably more likely

    Yes interesting - on one hand we are being told about a mini revolution and a new emergent Ineos; and then Viviani returns on a long deal; and Thomas gets an extra; but probably final year (albeit on much reduced terms).  A strange transfer season for the grenadiers - but surely the game changers are already locked and loaded - Hayter and Pidcock could ride for any team - no?

    MTB is what I read this morning.

    Mazowsze will find it difficult I think to retain their "Best CT in the World" title next year. They've announced this focus on youth with half the team being U23. That is sometimes just a dressed up excuse for a budget cut and kids don't usually equal points.

    Modolo returns to Bardiani

    #alpecin Sacha Modolo --> #bardiani Bardini CSF Faizane

    https://www.bardianicsf.com/news/bardiani-csf-faizane-il-grande-ritorno-di-sacha-modolo-e-il-colpo-a-sorpresa-di-fine-mercato/

    hopefully it'll work out a bit better for him than for Battaglin. Beppe Conti said #vinizabu Marezcko would be likely to get on board as well, but I guess that would make even less sense now.

    Also #elkov Elkov has announced the first three riders to join the team:

    Babor did a pretty good sprint in the Tour of Romania this year. Maybe he can turn into a good replacement for Alois. But with only (if I understand this correctly) one more signing to be announced, the team will probably be quite a bit weaker

    edit: There's also an article about it on idnes.cz. According to that, Petr Kelemen has left the team as well (to join Swiss Racing Academy), and there'll be only one more new rider indeed.

    So, looks like Cimo got the leadout-role he was hoping for :betting

    #israel Davide Cimolai --> #cofidis Cofidis

    https://www.equipecofidis.com/fr/actualites/2021-08-16/saison-2022-2023-davide-cimolai-un-coureur-d-experience-chez-cofidis

    Simone Consonni will stay with the team, and move from Viviani's train to Coquard's, together with Cimolai. The other Italians are not mentioned, so I guess they (both Viviani brothers + Sabatini) will all leave

    #cofidis DS Damiani now says, Consonni will get more leadership opportunities, even more than Coquard. "Simone has earned this on the road, by going fast, working for Viviani, and for his great ethics. Every time we told him to work for Viviani, he did his job for him."

    About the late (somewhat surprise) inclusion of #movistar Davide Villella he says, "I spoke to his old Colpack DS Rossella di Leo,  and he said that with the same determination, he would be ever stronger than Masnada." On an Italian team, he would have way more results, and it was mainly due to the lack of opportunities he got abroad. They had the choice of either picking Cataldo or Villella, and went for him then.

    https://bici.pro/news/professionisti/villella-cimolai-cofidis-damiani-scelta/

    #movistar Cataldo ended up an #trek Trek instead then

    It would be a rather unlikely signing. A good day here, a good race there and the rest nothing to write home about isn't your typical Sky/INEOS rider. Ellingworth must see something (and have vouched for him!) even if his most standout results occurred after he left the team.

    yeah, also not sure how much truth is in it. Both PCS and CQ have them listed with 31 riders for 2022 already at least, meaning the team is "full".

    But of course, maybe they could have a word with Wurf, for example (if he really has a contract for 2022 at all - couldn't find any confirmation)

    this is an interesting transfer. He has surely done enough to justify a step-up to PT level (again) over the years, but usually there are reasons when someone gets ignored this blatantly

    #amore Marco Tizza --> #bingoal Bingoal Pauwels Sauces WB

    Should normally be a great fit, though, Tizza is amazing in those hilly one day races

    https://www.wbca.be/litalien-marco-tizza-rejoint-bingoal-pauwels-sauces-wb/

    The team statement implicates that bike sponsor de Rosa (new on board since the beginning of 2021) was aiming for a bigger Italian calendar in 2022, and therefor also interested in getting an Italian rider on board

    When I read that, I thought "did he confuse the team because of the Drone Hopper sponsorship, thinking he signed for Savio?" :lol
    But he says something in the quote about the Spanish amateur calendar, so apparently not. Or he just decided to roll with it once he found out this was some amateur team ... :shh

    I will say that the Spanish amateur circuit is a good place to develop and get noticed by pro teams, though. Unlike the Italian, French, or Belgian racing scenes, the Spanish one is mainly populated by Spaniards, the odd Latin American, and a few young journeymen from other countries, but if you can make your mark there, it's a good line on your resumé.

    there's a longer statement from him on his Instagram

    "Couldn’t find a great picture for this so I just chose one that captures how excited I am for my next chapter in life. I very recently just signed with a Spanish development team. They work directly under the Drone Hopper Pro conti team and I have made the decision to ride for them next year. It will be a great opportunity to make the next jump and my ultimate goal, the World Tour. I will be living in Valencia all year next year. Thank you @gsport_cyclingteam for taking me in and giving me the chance to show myself over in Spain where some of the biggest talent comes from. I have been working hard to move up this fall and I finally got the opportunity. It’s time to show them what American muscle can do💪🏼Thanks to all who have been with me and supported me along my career. It is now just beginning "

    Someone on Twitter said that there is no connection at all between the two teams, though, and that even in the Spanish amateur scene it's not exactly one of the good ones.

    But well, he seems to be excited. Let's hope it works out, and doesn't turn out to be a big misunderstanding. Personally I'd think it'll be difficult

    Here we go, our first rider announcement for 2022: "It is the feeling of success that motivates me". He loves competition and the test of strength. That's how we already got to know him at Red Hook Criteriums. He brings his experience from the World Tour and a lot of Italian "passione", and we are happy to introduce him as Team Leader. A warm welcome to the Pushbikers, Filippo !

    4th team in 4 years for Fortin. A bit of a surprise, as he usually tends to deliver some good results
